Against All Odds: Successful
“Fulfillment as it is to be a teacher and I love doing it.”
~ Zoë Kaià

I'm fixing my papers at the school where I'm working right now (yes they accepted me already, they said that my perseverance is my quality.)

“Teacher Loisa can you make me an airplane?” One of my students asked me.

Yes, I'm the first PWD Woman who is teaching preschool at Centro Scholar in New York City, at first I see it as challenging but at the end of the day, it's fulfilling to teach kids.

“Of course, Missie,” I answered my student and then made her airplane.

*AT THE FACULTY ROOM*

“Miss Loisa, there is a problem with our web,” The faculty head asked me.

Yes, I'm also the special mechanic in our school and I'm proud to say that I'm excellent at that too.

“Okay, just give me five minutes to prepare,” I said to the faculty head.

While I'm fixing our web, I'm happy right now, I'm happy where this life is bringing me.

*AT THE CLASSROOM*

“Class, sit down, please!” I said to my students.

“Teacher is that your boyfriend?” One of my students said with a loud voice.

“No, that's just teacher's friend from college,” I said shyly.

“Then, why is he with flowers and chocolates?” My students wouldn't stop this topic.

“Okay, class let's write ABC,” I said to them with a calm voice.

“Class, you did well for today, and give yourself a round of applause,” I said to them with a big smile on my face.

“Class dismissed and thank you,” I said with early dismissal for I needed to take care of someone who was sulking right now.

Yes, Jairo is my boyfriend and we've been together for three years, he accepted me for who I am.

“Baby, don't get sulk I just told them that because I don't want to influence them with that,” I said to him full of love.

“Okay, let me take you home,” My boyfriend started to stroll out of my wheelchair out of the building.

The next morning, I got a text from my co-teacher from the school that said “Loisa, you're getting an award from the school.”

“Oh my God,” I gasped.

“Mom, look at this,” I handed her the phone.

“Mommy's so proud of you, my love, and I love you, okay?” My mom said to me and then she kissed my cheek.

*AT THE AWARDING*

“This award goes to Loisa Beaumont for excellence in her class even though she can't walk she still manages to do everything,” The emcee for the awarding cried as she gave me the award, and little did I know that the whole crowd was crying too.

“First of all, I would like to thank my mom and my boyfriend for supporting me all the way here and for my class thank you so much,” I said as I was crying already, speechless for the award that I got.

Truly this was all against all odds.

THE END.
