The Unknown Wanderer
Living in my house with my big bro, Not too close to civilization. I look out the window adoring the beautiful moon that shown brightly at me. But besides the shinning moon. There are other stories to be heard. My brother always said never to go out very late at night, he would always speak about a person or a creature that wanders at night looking for who to devour, l still find it hard to believe though
"Dinner's ready" Big bro said.
I rush to the table, I've been waiting for this meal for hours. Big Bros cooking is literally d best... Well... Till I learn how to cook that is
"Finally! I've been starving" l said taking a seat. Big bro giggled at me dishing my food. He made rice and curry😋.
I took up my spoon and was abt to dig in when big bro stopped me.
"Have you forgotten the routine?" He asked eyebrow raised
"Sorry I forgot... I was really hungry" I apologized. We held hands and said a short prayer.
We started our meal, having a conversation, giggling and enjoying the moment when we heard a loud noise like someone in pain, screaming at the top of his voice. We shiver in fear not knowing if to act or stay put. The scream comes again. I immediately stood up about to go out, but big bro held me, telling me to stay still and not to make a sound.
"Stay here... I'll go check it out" he said slowly walking to the door. He picks up his shot gun, taking some bullets.
"Make sure not to make any noise" He whispered about to go out
"Big bro..." I called out "Pls be careful" I said with a worried face. He smiles at me like an assurance that he'll be fine. He steps out gently closing the door. I sit back down shaking in fear
"Dear God... Pls protect big bro" I cried looking at the roof.
The scream comes again, this time with a gun shot. I get shivers and decide to go check it out hoping big bro is okay.
I run out of the house not knowing what to do if I actually find myself in the situation.
"Big bro! Big bro!! " I yelled out. The scream comes the fourth time. I quickly run towards where the sound was from.
"Big bro is that you? Are you okay?" I yelled out running in fear not considering if I might be the one to get into trouble.
I get to the location and see blood trails, even on the trees with scratches on them. I summon a little courage and follow the trails. As I got there, I saw the most teriffing thing ever... Something or someone was eating a person. I noticed it wasn't my brother so I attempted to turn around. I slowly move back trying not to make a sound, I accidentally step on a broken branch, I look up and the monster was no more.
I turn around about to go when I saw it.. The most horrific and disgusting ever. It was six feet tall, pale white in colour, it didn't have a mouth but set of teeth like that of a shark but longer and bigger, it's eyes were pure black, so as it's long nails that was filled with blood. I freeze on my spot no knowing what to do
"Should I play dead? No, it will kill me anyways... Should I scream for help?... That might be the worst idea... Then what?" I thought to myself.
The monster walks up to me as I move back, I got a tree and couldn't move
"Shit I'm trapped" I said again.
It moves closer to me as I stare sadly into it's creepy eyes. It starts sniffing me, moving to my neck. I could hear my heart beat really fast.
"So this is how I'm going to die... I guess the stories were true"
It tries to touch my face but stops. It then slowly moves it's hand to the back of my neck and forcefully drag me towards it's cold body. I shiver so much I could almost pee in my pants. It raises my head to look it directly in the eyes. I start sweating intensively as it looks at me from my head down to my feet. It moves to my ear, I could feel it's deep breath on it. It then looks back at me
"Pls... Pls Don't kill me I'm begging you" I said crying and shaking so much I think I might pass out. It says something but I couldn't understand. Suddenly, a gun shot comes from around the area
"Amelia! Amelia!! Are you there?" Someone called out. It was big bro. I wanted to reply but remembered the teriffying thing before me. It looks at me and turns around to see where the shot was coming from.
"Amelia! If it's you lemme know... Big bro's here to save you" He said again.
The monster turns back at me, moving it's head side to side. It let's go of my head, stares at me one last time, it let's go of my head and leaves. I rest on the tree trying to catch my breath.
" Death just passed my by.." I thought
" Amelia! Amelia!! " Big bro said finally reaching were I was. He runs to hug me as I cry in his arms.
"Are you okay?.. You had me worried... why did you leave the house?" He asked.
"I'm sorry... I wanted to come look for you" I replied crying even more
"It's ok now... let's head back home"
He holds my hands as he leads me back to the house.
After that day... I made sure never to step outside the house late at night ever again, no matter the situation.. I now believed all those stories and hope never again to witness anyone.
Remember darlings..... It is dangerous to walk at night.🙃
