. It was a very hot day in Louisiana. music was being played, everyone gathered around dancing. Laughter filled the air. "Oh sha, it's a real shame you leavin us." Grandpa Al said. "Oh dad, Ill come visit, and I'll bring the boys and Coraline to see ya, I promise." I said. My husband had got promoted in a business project in North Dakota.
" Nathan, go get Coraline and put her in her car seat, will ya." I said, giving my grandpa one last hug. My grandpa was the one who raised me when my parents passed away in the car accident. He had lost my grandmother the same year to cancer. "Come on Kate, the movers just called." My husband rick said. As we're miles far away Louisiana, we see a whole new secretary of cold winter snow.
"Michael got a girlfriend, oooo, I love Rebecca." Grant said, mocking his youngest brother. "pass here, let me see." James said, reaching over and grabbing the picture and started to laugh. "Give it back!" Nathan screamed. "Boys! enough! give ur brother his picture back this instant!" I yelled, massaging the side of my head as the headache occured. I don't see how my daughter, the baby of the family could sleep through all the noise. I swear she was just like her father, sleep through anything, he couldnt even hear the fire alarm.
"Home sweet home." rick said, pulling in the driveway. For some reason, the house looked like an abandon horror house. the street was was queit, no one was outside. "Do they even have light in there?" asked, grant. "no, son, your mom and I brought some candles the other day until the lights get turned on tomorrow rick said. "The life of horror.." James mumbled. "Hey, James, snow...you know what that means?" grant asked james. they both said it together. "Snow babes!"
"Ok you two go grab them boxes and put them in to the livingroom." I said shaking my head, those boys, what am I gonna do with them. I reach for Coraline and walked into the house. It surely had to be deeply dusted, and floors swept. Definitely need to be repainted, the wall paper was out dated. After everything was settled, we sat by the fire place. the kids was fat asleep on a king size air mattress, me and rick was fast asleep on the couch, it was nice and warm in the dusty old house. I started to dream of my parents being in the accident, I quickly woke up with my heart racing. "Rick." I wishpered. "Rick wake up." I wishpered again, shaking him a little bit. "yeah baby, bad dream again?" he asked. "Yeah." I said. rick kissed me on my farhead and surrounded his arms around me tighter. "look, we in a new place, new start, everything is gonna be okay, I promise, get some sleep, we got a long day ahead of us tomorrow." he said. I layed my head on his chest and fell fast asleep.
The morning came and rick had left early for work, I cooked, bacon, eggs, pancakes and biscuits. "mmmm." Nathan said, as he walked in and sat at the table. "Good morning sugar." I said, putting his plate on the table. " "Mom." Nathan said. "Yeah baby." I said. "Can I stay home today?" Nathan asked. I laughed a little. "No, you have to go to school, ain't you excited about a new school, new friends." I said. "Everyone teases me." Nathan said. "Aw honey, maybe this school will be different and make lots of friends, you'll see, now eat up, we gonna be late, Grant! James!" I said. "I'm coming, jeeze." Grant said, grabbing the plate from me. "Morning losers." James said. "James." I said giving him a stair. "I'm just kidding." James said. As the boys was eating, I was feeding Coraline. After I dropped coraline off at day care and grant and James off at high school. "Mom do I really have to go, can I just stay with you." Nathan wined. "come on now, you have to be a big boy now, Rebecca will want to hear all about it when you get home I'm sure." I said. "wish she was here." Nathan said getting out the car and walking into school. I pulled and got home. I sat by the fireplace and sip some nice warm tea.
meanwhile rick was in a meeting with his boss. "How's the first night in the house. " Ricks boss asked. " It a little dusty, but it'll do, kids and wife are happy, so we'll make due." rick said. "Good, so we just need you to put a presentation together for Friday, having the supermarket into a mall will be a great success, do you have a model to show?" the boss asked. "Yes, matter fact, I have it right her." rick said pulling it out a box. "ah, perfect, I think this presentation will be a success huh." the boss said. "yes." rick said.
When it was time to get the kids, I stopped at the day care first. "Hello, is coraline sleep, she didn't sleep much last night, I'm here to pick her up." I said. "Your husband picked her up, and told me to let you know." The receptionist said. "oh ok, good, thank you." I said. "have a good day." she said. I then went picked up the boys and got home. while the boys was doing homework, I was in the kitchen making dinner. Rick walks through the door. "mm, what my beautiful wife is cooking." rick said hugging me from behind and giving me a kiss on the check. "your favorite, spaghetti, wheres Caroline?" I asked. "Isn't she with the boys or in the crib.?" he asked. "Wasnt Carolina with you, didn't you pick her up.?" I asked, confused. "No, I told you I had to go into work in early today remember." rick said. "Well the lady said you picked her up and to let me know." I said. "What, your saying our daughter was taken?" Rick said getting furious dialing his old friend Barry, who is a police officers number. "Hey buddy long time no see, what up." Barry said. "Hey man, I kno but look sorry to call like this but someone took my daughter from day care."rick said. "Did you get a scription on what car was they driving or anything." Barry asked. "Uh, hold on, honey, did they say what car the person was driving or a discription of the person?" rick asked me. "No I didn't ask, I was in the hurry to get the boys." I said. "Uh no we don't have an idea." rick said to barry. "Ok, your daughter goes to the same school my son goes to, I'll stop by in the morning and check out the security camera and ask if anyone seen anything suspicious." barry said. "alright man, thanks." rick said. "No problem, if shes not found by the tomorrow, well put out a missing persons report, if I were you, I make sure your windows and doors are locked." barry said. "Will do, thanks, bye." rick said hanging up the phone.
We ate and went to bed. rick did a check around the house and made sure all doors and windows was locked and the alarm system was newly secured. The phone rings, he goes to anwser it. "Helo." rick says. "shhhhhhhhhhh..." the person on the other line said, hanging up the phone. rick shook his head and went to bed. he didn't think nothing of it, probably some high school kids messing around. The next morning, rick and I had went out to look for carolina, leaving Grant and James in charge to watch over their little brother Nathan. "Mom left us in charge, so that means you gotta clean our room." Grant said. "Imma tell momma." Nathan said. "Squeal and I'll tell you little girlfriend you pee in the bed." Grand said. "She's not my girlfriend, she just my friend." Nathan said, getting angry. "sure she is, is that why she scribble like a little girl in your notebook, your in love." James said making fun of me. "Fine!" Nathan said as he walked to his older brothers rooms and began cleaning. Grant and James took their moms keys and drove to the a friend's house. While nathan was putting his brothers awful smelly socks in the hamper, he herd a little girl scream.
He went to go check it out. he seen through the window basement of the house next door with a girl holding a poster saying help me. Nathan hurried and put on his jacket and shoes and went outside to look in the window. "What are you doing boy?" an old man asked, as he walked closer to Nathan. Nathan jumped from frieght. "I saw someone in the window, she look like she needed help." Nathan said. "Don't you know about trespassing on other peoples yards?" the old man asked, crossing his arms. "Sorry sir."Nathan said Terribling in his boots. "Where's your parents?" The old man asked. "They went to look for my sister, she missing." Nathan said. "I see, you hunger, I can make us some hot chocolate." the man offered. "Yeah, I love hot chocolate." Nathan said following the man inside. As the old man was making the hot chocolate, Nathan sat at the table."Couple years ago, they had a family that use to to live in your house, their two little girls went missing, one day they was playing in the yard and the next they disappeared." the old man said, handing nathan his cup. "Ww-what happen to them?" Nathan asked curious. No one knows, the couple happened to move away and never look back." he said. suddenly Nathan was getting sleepy and couldn't keep his eyes open and fell asleep. Rick and I had pulled up. Grant and James was already back, passed out on the couch, with an open empty pizza box on the the coffee table and the walking dead on tv. "Grant!..James!" my husband yelled. "Yeah, what are you a sargent?" Grant asked rubbing his eyes. "Where's your brother?" rick asked. "He's up stair somewhere." James said, tiredly. I went up stairs to look, but no nathan. I walked back down stairs. "Nathan is gone, I told you two to watch him, can y'all do anything right!" I yelled. "lisense, hand it over now." rick said to Grant. "What, I didn't do anything, it's not my fault that loser wanted to wonder off." Grant said. "That loser is your brother, and you wonder why were not buying you car, hand it over!" rick demanded. "man." Grant said handing over his lisense. "Both of you are ground, you go to school and you report back home and stay here, do I make myself clear." rick said. "Why I gotta be introuble, it was his idea." James said. "wow you just put it all on me, good looking out bro." Grant said. "Go to your rooms now!" I screamed, I was so furious that their was so careless over their younger sibling. I lost two of my babies and I don't know where they are. they probably scared and cold and hungry. if I could just find them and bring them home.
Later that night Rick had to leave to go on a business trip. "Call me if anything comes up, and keep the doors locked and I asked Barry to keep an eye out on the house, ok, I love you baby." rick said giving me a hug and a sweet kiss. "I love you, have a safe trip. " I said. As he drove off, I went to walk back in the house, when I heard knocking on a window. It was a little girl. I bent down to see her crying as in relief someone sees her and holds a poster saying help me. I went to get up but was strucked with a shovel. I was tied up and taken to a room.
"Hey, you seen mom?" James asked Grant. "no, it's Saturday, she probably at the store or something, you know mom." Grant said. "Right." james said going to the livingroom to play the Xbox. Night time came, and James begins to worry so he calles rick. "Dad?"James said. "Yes son."Rick said." I don't know where mom is, she hasn't came home, and it's late." James said. "Where's your brother?" rick asked. "watching a movie in his room."James said. "Ok imma call your paran Barry to come stay with you guys until I can get back home, talk stay put, I'm on my way ok." rick said. "ok, bye dad." James said.
I finally awoken to see me tied up to a chair and my arms and legs taped down to the chair. I see the little girl scared and terrified hiding in the dark in a cage. I see my son laying down in a cage with cutts and brusies over his body. "Oh baby, my sweet baby what have they done to you." I said started to cry. "Are you his mommy?" a little voice said. I looked up to see the little girl. "Yes and who are you sweetie?" I ask her. "Maranda, I'm four, I lost my mommy in the park, that scary man took me away." she said. "Oh sweet heart, I'mma help you find your mommy, help is on the way I promise." I said. someone was walking down the stairs.
"ah, I see mommy is awake." the old man said. "Let them go, their just children!" I yelled. "What do you know, just children." he said laughing. He pulled out the little girls sister from a closet. "Help!" she screamed. "Shut up little brat." He said holding a knife to her throat. "No don't kill her, she just a little girl please." I said. He made an evil grin and sliced the girls throat, leaving her to fall on to the floor while the blood flushed out her throat. Her sister screamed in tears as she just witnessed her sisters murder. "Nooooo, why are doing this, she was just a innocent little girl!" I screamed in tears. "Now that we have a understanding, I need something from you." he said pulling her shirt down. she spit in his face. The old man slapped her in result of making her lip bleed. he laughed a little while he whipped the spit off his face. He then reached for my son and dragged him out. "Don't you dare touch him, leave my son alone." I screamed. "Give me what I want and I won't touch and hair on his head." He said laying him down on back in the cage and locking it. "What do you want." I said. He smiled that evil smile again. suddenly she hears a fimilary voice upstairs. "wawa." its was coraline. "well looks like babygirl is up, seems play time is over, tata for now." he says walking up stairs. "Coraline!"I screamed. he shut the door behind him. leaving only the sunlight to shine through the basement window. Grant hears a knock on the door. "Who is it?" Grant asked. "It's your paran Barry, open up." Barry said. Grant opened the door. "Hey, y'all heard anything from y'all mom?" Barry asked. "No, what's going on?" Grant asked. "Your mom is missing too along with your brother and sister, your day is flying back home, he won't be here until the morning, so I'mma stay with y'all till then, we have police officers watching the house near by if anything happens." barry said. "Can you order us some pizza, I'm hungry, james ate all the snacks." Grant said. barry laughed. "yeah, I swear you boys eat like a pig, what you want the usual, pepperoni?" barry asked. "You know." Grant said. "did I hear pizza?" james said. "Oh no, you not getting none, you ate everything up with your hungry gorilla ass." Grant said. "Hey watch your language, and I'll order three pizzas okay." barry said walking into the kitchen. "Where's mom, she still not here?" James asked. "No, wonder what happen, hope she ok." Grant said. "Yeah, can't wait for dad to get back." James said. "Okay, three pizza on the way, who wants they butt kicked in mortal Kombat." barry said. "oh your on, imma score you so bad your gonna cry like a baby." Grant said "Bring it on, young one."Barry said "This is gonna be good." James said.
"baba." Coraline said. "Yes, momma gonna go boom boom, with brother a side of her." the old man said to her giving her a strawberry cookie. The next morning, rick had gotten home form the flight. the boys was sleep in there bed and Barry was sitting at the table drinking coffee. "Hey man, where the boys?" rick asked. " they still sleeping, I kicked their ass in mortal kombat, old paran got some moves." barry said. they both shared a small laugh. "Hear anything about kate?" rick asked. " no nothing, cameras caught someone in a black shirt and blue jeans but the bastard kept his head down with a cap on." barry said. "Dam, did y'all catch what kind of car they was driving?" rick asked pouring him a cup of coffee. "It was an unmarked car, who ever it is, really tired hard not to be found." barry said. "He has my wife and kids barry, we can't just sit around and just wait around for something to happen." rick said. "what you think we should do?" barry asked. "Get a search team out here." rick said. "alright I'll be back with some locals, stay here, don't do anything crazy rick." barry said. "She's my wife man." rick said. "Rick." barry said. "Fine." rick said. When barry pulled off, Rick walked over to the neighbors house. He ranged the door bell. The old man anwsered the door. "hey, I'm rick, I'm your neighbor, I came over to ask if you seen my wife around, she didn't come home last night." rick said. " sorry son but I haven't seen anyone around, I don't get out that much these days. I was hearing my husband voice, and opportunity to get these kids and me to safety. I started to scream very loudly. "oh that's my wife, better tend to her it was nice chatting with you." the old man said. rick stuck his foot intront the door to stop it from closing. "You know it sure sounded a lot like my wife." Rick said. "I told you she ain't here." the old man said. "Rick! Rick down here! Help!" I screamed even louder. " "hm, yeah maybe she went to her dads for the day, have a good day." rick said as he pretended to walk away. the old man closed the door. Rick with full force kicks the door in. Rick throws the first punch at the old man as they begin to wrestle. "Kate!" Rick, shouted. "Rick!" I screamed. The old man got a hold of rick and was on top of him choking him. Rick looked on the side of him and tried to reach for the lamp. He had finllay had got a good grip on it and knocked the old man out with. rick quickly grasp for air and coughed. He quickly tied the wired to the lamp around the old man's hands. Rick walked down to the basement. "Rick, omg rick." I said so scared in tears. "Oh baby, I'm sorry, I'm so sorry, I shouldn't of left you, where's Nathan and Coraline?" rick asked. "Nick's over there and there's a little girl too, he killed a child rick." I said. "Ok,ok we gonna get help." rick said kissing me over and over and then letting me lose as we got the children out of the cages. "Ok can that window open?" he asked."Idk." I said. Rick tried and couldn't get it, he looked around the room and seen a bat and bust the window open. "You get the kids to safety, imma go find coraline." rick said. "Rick, I'm scared." I said. "I got you baby, now you gotta be brave, ok, I'll see you on the other side." rick said, going back up the stairs. I helped the kids through the window as I climed out behind them. I ran with the kids to our house and locked the door. I called barry. "Yeah rick, I hope your not calling me to say you did something stupid. " barry said. "Barry it's me, the next door neighbor kidnapped my children and me and someone's little girl, he killed another little girl in front of me." I said. "Where are you?"barry asked. " rick help us escape but his still in there trying to find coraline." I said. "stay put I'm on my way with back up." barry said and hung up. "Mom!" grant said running to hug her. "Your back!." james said as he joined in the hug. "Oh my boys, thank god." I said hugging them. the little girl stood there still afraid. "Come here sweetie, were gonna find your mom okay, are you hungry?" I asked. she nodded her up and down. "Ok, come sit down." I said and grabed her a small bag of cookies.
Rick slowly peep around the corner to see if the old man was still lying there, But he was gone. "Coraline." ricky whispered as he walked around slowly looking for her. He hears a laugh and running. "Coraline, come here baby, it's daddy." Rick said. he checks the bathroom and grabs the curtain and moves it quickly. nothing there, he walks down the hall, into a bedroom. He hears giggling. He walks towards the closest. He goes to open it but hit in the head with a vase.
He falls down but quickly gets up and throws the old man to the ground. "Freeze!" an officer says standing next to barry, as he holds the gun pointing at the old man. "dada." coraline said. her very first words. "coraline." rick said picking her up and giving her a hug. "you said your first word, wait till I tell mommy your first word was dada." rick said giving her kiss on the forehead. They arrest the old man and was able to find the young girls mother. As rick walks inside his home with coraline in his arms. (continuing)
