Two Sides
She stood quietly, closing her eyes in front of the large mirror.
i’m lost. - she whispered in her mind.
Opening her eyes… her reflection gazed back at her. A hatred in her dark brown eyes.
The reflection raising her chin, superiorly.
She gasped, grabbing her night gown tightly.
“You.” She stated assertively. Each foot stepping out of the mirror slowly.
She wore a deep grey gown, appearing as though it was once white but worn and tattered.
“You. Pathetic, hopeful, full of imaginary love that no longer exists…” She snarls, as she drags a long sword at her side.
Shaking her head, “Me? I… who are you?” She stumbles.
The dark reflection glares at her, stepping closer and speaking in her face.
“I am the strongest side of you, the you that you are too weak to let out!” She yells in her face with deep seeded anger.
Stumbling back and falling onto the wood floor she trembles, “I don’t know what you mean!”
“He loves me. He wants me, just me. He didn’t mean to hurt me.” She mocks, “Pathetic, the lies you tell yourself in the mirror each day as he destroys us!” Scoffing, she turns around,
“I am the one who has to save us both, from you. Weak and hoping he will change, he will never change but you…” she pauses.
“You are even more stubborn, unwilling to change. You hold on to a fantasy, like a damn child.”
She turns faster than the other half can blink, shoving the sword into her abdomen.
“I have to end you, before you destroy us both.”
The girl in white sheds a tear.
“Weak.” The reflection states firmly.
“We cannot afford to be weak any longer, without this side of us…” shaking her head, “We will be stronger. The story tale does not exist, it’s time to let go.”
The light fades from her eyes as the reflection removes the sword quickly.
“Goodbye hope, goodbye you.”
