Chapter 8: Shyness and a plan in action

(Lily's POV)

"Lil what in the Gods name happened at Dominic's house? You had been trying to avoid talking about it since yesterday.

But you've been secretly glancing at Dominic from the very first period when he walks into the class", Beth said leaning in, her eyes fill with confusion and concern.

I think about yesterday but feel my face get hot recounting the events. It was so embarrassing! Oh God, I mistakenly assume Dominic to be gay!

But I feel relieved when he said it was just a misunderstanding. Why my heart speed up knowing he likes girls only...

Nothing much happened after Orion left us alone to pick up his sister. I felt a sense of deja-vu when I was standing alone with Dominic in the foyer.

We only read few books from Dominic's books case and then he teach me how to make my spaghetti tastier.

Still I could feel the slight awkwardness hung in the air. Dominic was very careful in not touching my hand while teaching me cooking.

I couldn't help but felt a bit disappointment or more when he would withdrew his hand and refused to look in my eyes.

I've always thought there's nothing can faze Dominic or make him fluster. He always look so uptight and calm; he always keep his emotions in control.

But this time it feels so different. Like he's hiding something, even from me. He looked so tense yesterday as if it suffocate him to be with me in the same room.

He told me to leave abruptly when I started asking him if anything seems wrong. He told me 'he is feeling tired' but I can tell he was just making an excuse to be left alone.

I don't know why but I wanted to stay with him a bit longer though. I'm feeling so confuse...

"Beth it's nothing. Don't worry, we're not fighting if that's what worrying you", I said smiling slightly to reassure her.

But I think my smile don't look that convincing because she slightly frown at me. She sighs out and seems to give up on my case, for now.

"Fine, I'll not pester you about it. But know that you can tell me anything. Even if you fall for Domi or something do happens between you two", Beth said winking; she smiles teasingly at me.

"WH-what the heck are you saying Beth. There is nothing going on between us! W-we are just friends", I said lowering my voice; I can feel my face getting flush hot.

Why everyone always assumes there's something going on between me and Dominic. We only read books and cook meals together. We don't talk much about personal stuff only just books and recipes.

I don't see anything wrong with that. I mean friends do fun things together, right? Aghh why is everyone making a big deal out of it?

I ignore Beth's chuckles and focus on finishing my lunch. I wonder where's Dominic and what he is up to?

(Dominic's POV)

"Did you find the evidence or just call me up to fool around". I carefully balance my phone between my ear and shoulder blade.

I'm sitting in the music room with my baby away from the chaos in the cafeteria. I dislikes noisy and crowded places very much.

Lily and others don't mind when I disappear on them during lunch time. But I wonder what Lily is doing? Is she even missing me?

Girls wanted to discuss something important so Chase has gone to sit with our band mates. He texted me to sit with them but I decline their offer. I still feel weird calling them 'our' band mates.

"Buddy I'm not fooling around. I'm just being a nice bud checking up on my gloomy friend. I don't wanna you die from boredom", Orion said trying to hide his laugh.

I growl at him in warning. But that seems enough to stop him from fooling around. I guess he's still scared of me despite the friendly charade.

"Well I've good news and bad news, which one you wanna pick first?" Orion asks me, amusement dripping off his tone. That bastard! Definitely trying to test my temper!

"You-", "Yeh yeh stop fooling around, I heard you first time. Humph, you're no fun. How can your girlfriend stand your grumpiness? Only God knows", Orion mutters out.

I take few deep breaths and strum few chords to calm down, I know getting angry will not get this anywhere. Besides I'll only give in to that idiots fun.

"How many times will I've to tell you she's not my girlfriend? Can't your stupid brain decipher it, dumbass?"

"Huff, don't be such a spoilsports, buddy. Fine, the good news is the 'great me' manage to hack in the snake's phone.

The bad news is I didn't find any video you told me to look for. Not even in some sort of secret files.

The data in her phone is also nothing special. Just like any normal teenage girl's one", Orion said surprisingly in disgusting tone. Looks like he saw something disturbing in that bitch phone.

I contemplate over the information Orion gives me. "Seems like we've no choice but to resort to plan B".
