The Brother I Wish I Never Had
#WritcoStoryPrompt63
Have you ever encountered a person showing no consideration for others? Write a story on same.

It was on Monday, if I can recall correctly. On that hot Monday morning that I lost what small respect I still had for him.
I woke up late and in a hurry to school as usual.
'Where my bag?' I yelled running down the stairs.
'Haven't seen it.' My sister said facing the tv. 'Ask Osas.'
Osas! I hope that boy isn't at it again. I dashed into his room. Wind blasted through windows by the side of his unmade bed. Every article of clothing that was supposed to be in his closet was on the floor. Carefully, I made my way through the heap, lifting cloth after cloth. Then I found it. My books were still in intact. As was my canvas. My money! My money was gone. I hurried back down. 'Do you know where were he went?' I asked.
'Ehn?' Her gaze fixed on the tv.
I snatched the remote from her grasp and switched off the tv.
'Ahn, ahn!' She exclaimed.
'Will you talk or not?'
She sighed. 'I saw him with his sportsgear. So I'm guessing the basketball court.'
I threw the remote on the couch.

As I stepped into the morning sun, my mind swarmed with anxiety. This wasn't the first, second, third or even tenth he had stole from me. Still, this time was different. That money was my last hope. My only hope, and he knew. He knew and took it anyway.

I snapped back to reality when I bumped into a tall, sweaty boy. A dirty jersey on him, basketball in his hand. 'Look at where you're going.' He tone screamed of agitation. I trudged forward.
From afar, I could see him; on the bench, sitting upright while the rest of the team were hurdled around him, laughing at whatever lie he was concocting. Always the centre of attention.
'Osas! Osas!' I shouted approaching him.
'Ah, baby bro. Why are you here? Don't tell me you want to start basketball. We've both agreed that you're too short for it.' Chuckles echoed around him.
'You're a waste, Osas. Money that I've been keeping to pay for my scholarship exam to university, you.......you took all of it.'
'And so?' He smirked. 'Guy, I did you a favour. All that school stuff na stress. You're better off finding real work now.'
'Can you hear yourself at all? You sound like a degenerate. Scamming is not work.'
'Did I say scamming?' His face contorted.
'It shows on you. That you're a scammer.'
'Little bro, I have a match to finish. Start going home.'
'Fine, I'll go home but know you're not allowed to ever enter our house again.'
'Cause you're my father, abi?' He chuckled.
'I swear to God, if I see you in that house today, I'll kill you.' Something snapped inside me. Something that meant what was said.
He stood up, reached out for me, grapping me by the collar. 'Since when are you bold enough to threaten me?' I smacked him across the face. Before I could even make my next move, a blow landed on my cheek. I feel face flat on the ground.
'Are you mad, hunh? Are you mad?' He screamed at me. His teammates gathered round, some restraining him.
'If not for these boys, I would give something to really be upset about. Better start going home now.'
I picked myself up, my first trodden steps leading me away. With head bowed to conceal my tears, I walked home under the scorching glint of the sun.
