Struggling To Be A Better Man
S.T.B.A.M-part4

Ideal after ideal. Was he fooling himself or could he really create a solid professional platform or product that'll entice and be profitable?
But the thought of being so connected and in your face with social media from a prison cell. Wow! It just seemed so arrogant and over the top. Hell no, he thought. Kendrick knew it was possible. That wasn't the problem. It was the damn cost of a cell phone in prison first. Then the psychological turmoil one goes through when 12(the police) confiscates it and the realization is you've lost $3,200 because you're not getting it back. But you're still stuck in that cell again alone with just your thoughts. Back on that prisoner schedule and routine. Dreading the prison wall phone where you're only allowed a 15 minute call once a day and no privacy. After you've begun learning how to communicate and fill the gaps that are gaping holes because you're not physically obtainable. That's your turmoil and families.
But as a prisoner in possession of one you are at a heightened level of paranoia daily because you don't want to feel all the above mentioned element's.
But then there's the ramifications after the fact. The penalty phase. The loss of privileges and added prison time.
Damn Kendrick, mumbled through a yawn after running through some of the negatives he could face plastering and/or uploading his face to social media.

Prisoner's in the same position did the opposite of what he was considering to do. Because prison life was extremely different when one had a cell phone. A prisoner in possession of one humbled themselves and quickly avoided conflicts,went incognito, became more alert for the Officer's,and watchout for those prisoners with snitch jackets on them.
You had to screen your associates and pick the right cellies. Oh, that was a big one. The cellies with inside shade/ hate in them. Most feel like they should receive some time on a phone they haven't contributed a pennie too, nor paid one phone bill or offered. Oh yes,the heart of entitlement brings out the backbiting/dry talk (jaw jacking). Them speaking to others of your private conversations,or complaining that you are not given them assistance through messages. Some just cannot hold water. They want people to know that they talk on a cell phone,or gloat they have one, which turns out to not be theirs. Trying to look like something they are not. It's so many elements of stress and paranoia dealing with a cell phone in prison. Which in the CDCR(CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS AND REHABILITATION) is depicted as "Dangerous Contraband" in the Title 15 Rules and Regulations manual. But also on the 115 disciplinary write up a prisoner receives when they are caught with a cellphone in their position/property. The punishment varies slightly for each individual prisoner. Because it depends on how many rules and regulations 115 write ups the prisoner has been found guilty for on the same offense. One thing doesn't vary or change.
All prisoner's found guilty of this rules violation will have 4 months added to their sentence. The amount of time doesn't change with accumulative violations. Everytime a prisoner is caught and found guilty of this rules violation , that 4 months is added. Unless your release date is your maximum sentence. A facility cannot add the 4 month rules violation if your confinement time is up. If the prisoner is not jurisdictionally maxed out. Then the facility has the legal right to administer the penalty the prisoner was charged of and found guilty of violating. Prisoners that are not maxing out on their sentences know that being found guilty of this 115 RVR will push up their release date 4 months mandatory. NO exceptions.

If you are found guilty and it's your first offense it's 30 days loss of all prison privileges as follows;
Prison Phone Calls
Building Dayroom
Recreational Yard

And a year loss of conjugal visitations. Married or not.

The second rules violation of possession of dangerous contraband. A cell phone is 60 days loss of;

1) Prison Phone Calls
2) Building Dayroom
3) Recreational Yards
4)Commissary/Store/Canteen

And two years loss of conjugal visitations.

The third rules violation of possession of dangerous contraband. A cell phone is 90 days loss of;

1) Prison Phone Calls
2) Building Dayroom
3) Recreational Yards
4)Commissary/Store/Canteen
5) Quarterly Packages

And now it's 3 year's no conjugal visitations. Furthermore,the prisoner is now required to write to the CRB, (correctional review board) to ask for their conjugal visitations to be reinstated and also explain why they're continuous violation to this rule should not be viewed as dangerous to society and criminal mischief.

Kendrick really had to pay attention and stay focused. It wasn't a game. That's all he could think about as he slipped into a deep sleep laying on the with a Tonya, catching a last thought before it all went black. It felt good to have her and his family back and so close to him. So good close, he was in thought and then nothing.

Kenderick's days in prison began to fly by. There wasn't much moving in Pelican Bay State Prison. But that was all right with him. He began to focus his attention on tiktok because at the moment it was popular. But he really couldn't figure out what he wanted to do on the app, at times. But he had made videos of him doing different things that he knew he's creative mind could carry or depict. Like singing, rapping and teaching the art of poetry,song and rap writing. Breaking it down and the techniques of speeding up his tempos and double dutching the bars.
He'd also recited his poetry in videos. But furthermore, he attached an instructional video on the art of poetry writing. But also, how to form concept's, character's and content in rhythmatic form.
He recognized that his views started to rise rapidly on Tiktok. Kenderick's,Tanya and a few friends of theirs had drafted up a couple plans that actually made sense.
It was Kendrick remastering and/or remixing R&B songs and singing them. Tonya had given him a country song by the country group Rascal Flatts called "Here Good-bye". And he sang it with all he had with tears running down his face.
Kendrick finished the song and was weary about uploading it. He had never shown this side to anyone. But he uploaded the video with no regrets and closed the Tiktok. He had other things to do. Plus,he had to go to mental health. So he put his phone up in his tuck spot. This was prison, not society. One just couldn't leave a cell phone charging or sitting out. It would be confiscated if found most likely. There's a few Officers that wouldn't care. But it would be a stupid move to try and figure that out. Plus a costly one.

Kenderick's had been gone for about 4 hours when he had left out for mental health. He was tired and hungry when he got back to his cell. He sat on the bed, cut his TV and kicked his shoes off. He got ready to pull his phone out of its tuck spot, but instead made himself something to eat. He was kind of sluggish and exhausted from the long night of contemplating and then going to the psychologist really zapped him of his energy. After all the extra activity Kenderick's pulled his phone out the tuck spots. And when he cut it on his message notifications just went crazy. He was being bombarded by messages to his phone and Tiktok. He didn't understand why. So he immediately called Tonya to find out what's going on through confusion and panic now. She picked up and said baby you've gone viral on Tiktok? She continued, you have 3.3 million likes in 4 hours. He went to Tiktok and couldn't believe his eyes. It was actually 3.9 million right as he looked at it. Wow.
Tonya was speaking but Kendrick didn't hear a word that she was saying.

He was reading the comments attached to the likes on his Tiktok. It was all becoming very overwhelming. He took a deep breath and began to calm down. Everything seemed to begin to slow down.
Tonya was reading the comments from his Tiktok page.

"What a re-edition from a thugged out Black male raised in the ghetto's of Oakland, California,selling drugs and robbing people to get ahead. Wow. And the emotional delivery".

She read comment after comment. It seemed that they had got lost into deep conversation, and playing with the kids, neither had recognized the time. It was way passed their bed time.
