More on reading speed and comprehension
Start a third of the way and begin reading there. The same applies to the end of the line. Use your peripheral vision!

If you can take in clumps of words with meaning, if you can take in word groups, you can read that much faster and improve your comprehension.

Reading with your finger allows a flow to your reading which helps you to not go back and re-read.

Chunking:
To help chunk a sentence easier, you chunk the words into three images. This is more than three times faster than reading word by word! And you still read every word. During the pandemic, many teachers used this same lesson for their students, only using the word scooping to help them get the idea. Instead of word by word, you pretend your words are ice cream and you scoop them so your reading sounds smoother, and not like a robot

Image flow: This time, try to picture your sentence in two chunks or one. The trick is to identify images as you read. You can boost your speed and comprehension, and you’re capturing more information with fewer images. For example, The big fat cat jumped over/The spikey large fence
Or The big fat cat jumped over the spikey large fence (With just one glance instead of two)

Move your visual guide further than you normally would. This will increase your field of vision, helping you read faster

Audio:
Hearing as you read along is great. You can hear the correct pronunciation, fluency, prosody, expression and more. With speak screen or audiobooks, most apps let you adjust the speed.
