Last Chance
8:47Pm
His phone in his hands, do I text her and let her know the truth or do I keep this secret till the grave. His options limited, his choice difficult. With a brave face, he decides to make the call instead.

8:50 Pm
She's been thrown again, like rubbish to the bin, except it misses each time. She wants to believe that there's more to everything she's come to know about him. He wouldn't hurt me, not like that. He said he loved me, said he cared for me, there's no way he would do that to me. Her options limitless but her chances dwindled to one last try.

9:00 Pm
Him: Hello
Her: Hey
Him: I just want you to know that I didn't mean any of the things I said earlier. I was only lashing out and I'm sorry.
Her: *takes a quick breath* I get it and I do understand. I just wish you spoke to me in clearer terms the reasons for your behavior.
Him: I wish I did too. I can't say sorry enough but it's the truth. I really am.
Her: I want to say all is forgiven but I'll be lying if I said that. you hurt me in ways I didn't know existed. Cut me in places I couldn't treat. You ripped me apart with your words and it's too late to fix anything.
Him: I will do anything to...
Her: It's too late to fix. That gal died from bleeding excessively on the inside. She died from lack of care and attention to her wounds. She didn't get to make it to the ER. She has passed on.
I want to say I'll try but I know that part, that existence that lived for you.... I'm sorry but she also died for you since she basically lived for you and you stole her life from her when you walked out the door and walked out her life.
Him: Don't do this, Tes... please don't say that.
Her: *tears cascading down her face* it's done and over with D.
Him: One more chance T. I just need one...
Her: I gave you the last one I had. If only you treated it right. Goodbye D.
Him: Don't.... *beep* hello, Tes!!!
*tears flow, knees to the floor as his vision blurs and a memory returns.......*

*He asks her gently with his hands caressing her hair, "I don't ever want to hurt you but what if I did, would you be able to forgive me?"
Her simple reply, "if you hurt me, there'd be no one to forgive you."
He didn't understand it then but he did now.*
