The Ordinary.
The old analog clock struck 6:00pm and on contrary to its reputation, the valsad local arrived on time. Everyday is a battle to claim your rightful spot in the compartment and the crowd knows no gender or race or caste. Survival of the fittest; as every middle class uncle would put it. Today also it wasnt easy to step off of the slow moving train, it is a habit we Indians have cultivated to rather show off that we have no time to spare; even if it means to risk having our torso cut off in half. As I jumped off, I again found myself in the crowd , but this time it was headed towards the exit. Some carrying their son's old school bag , some carrying their Laptop bag , whereas some with their brown office bags , all headed towards the exit together.
I never thought I would be a part of this parade , but here I was at the age of 21.
I remember being a kid , strolling around the platform with my father whenever we needed to catch the train to my grandmother's house and wonder why these people not use their cars or bikes to travel to their workplace. Commuting in a herd, sweaty formal wears , dirty coaches, ever grumpy middle aged women , why.? Why travel in such conditions.? Doesn't your job pay you enough to afford a car.? Don't you earn enough to spend on your fuel.? So you are clearly not successful I say. Imagine catching a bus just because autorickshaws charge more; you are clearly not an accomplished indivitual if that's the case.
But here I was after a decade, on the same platform, with the crowd I hated to be a part of. Did I fail in life.? Was I not supposed to ask my driver to take me home from work in a Mercedes.? Was I not supposed to give out generous tips to the chef for making my roasted potatoes and cavier the way I like it.?
I guess not every college gives out a 56 LPA to a commerce graduate. If I were to rephrase my previous statement , I would say " There are no colleges which give out 56 LPA to any commerce graduate ".
-" Bhaiya ek plate bhaji pav karna"
-"Khatam hogaya , samose kardu.?"
- " Kitneka hai.?
"- 30 ka 2 "
-" Rehnedo"
