The Kind Fireman

There was a young woman working full time in a small town not far from the city. The town of smokers and players. Sure, there are nice to see when your taking the wheel of an old beat up truck . Slowely cruising down the highway with the window half rolled down . You can see and smell the fresh december air of grass and cows trotting in the shamrock green fields.

The young woman had walked the night time streets pouring thoughts and mindful questions. The breeze had often made chills run up and down her spine . She would wake up at 4 am promptly. The young woman worked at the only grocery store in town. She would have the work uniform nicely folded . She would put on her work clothes ,the weight she had felt often sometimes became real. That is the funny thing about how our minds can play tricks.
She walked to work every morning . She wasnt full but not exactly alive.
The previous week was a wreckning her lover had different plans in his mind that didnt involve her anymore.

How could this be? Sometimes we loose what we love the most and keep trudging through . That is how we survive these hard moments.

The young woman had many misfortunes with family, lost a few friends and often dating the wrong fellas. Today had felt different spacious and dark. Like gravity had shifted too fast, an ocean of sorrow had flooded her gut. And today she let it, she needed to feel something.

In the middle of her hault she stopped working. She heard a voice and she turned around. She saw the Fireman holding a grocery bag on each side. The Fireman started to speak. "I'm sorry you are having a hard time, I can see it but I just want you to know that things will get better," said the Fireman. "Have a good day ." The womans heart had felt blanket of comfort. "Thank you, Have a good day too."

As the fireman walked off, the woman felt tears well in her eyes. It was nice to know another person , a stranger had cared and was thoughtful of her. She smiled and continued to work.
