It's always said that leaders do something different than others
In my blog today I am sharing an interesting story of brand #Tata Motors built called #Sumo.
When we think of the word Sumo we get pictures in our mind of #Japanese wrestlers, tough, rugged & robust.
Every day top executives of Tata Motors used to take lunch together but for some days, Mr #Sumant Moolgaokar used to take his car and go out during lunch hours and come back as soon as the lunch break was over. There was a grapevine that he is offered lunch at some five-star #hotels by some company #dealers of #Tata Motors. One day out of curiosity, some executives followed him during Lunch Break, they were surprised to see that Mr. Sumant Moolgaokar stopped his car at one highway Dhaba, ordered food for him, and sat with the drivers of trucks who were eating food at that dhaba. He discussed with them what was good and what was bad in a Tata Truck, jotted down, and came back to his office. He used to improve his products upon the experiences of truck & other automobile drivers. Such was Mr. Sumant Moolgaokar's zeal for improving the Tata vehicles. Tata Sumo brand was the biggest corporate tribute paid by any company to its executive. Su stands for Sumant and Mo stands for Moolgaokar in this brand name. This was richness in the culture of the Tata group. But more kudos to Tatas for appreciation and honoring their top lines management executives. Have been hearing the success stories of the Tata Group empire from my parents right from my childhood days.
I am proud & honored to have one of the best business house #Tatas in our country. We need more business houses like Tatas to enable us to become an influential part of fortune 500 companies globally.
