Write a short story from your past that involves light or darkness in some way.

"Veronica open the door please, Veronica open the door!"
She was too scared, lost, confused that she just hugged herself in the darkness of the room she was locked in.
"Don't make me come in there." the person on the other side kept on banging at the door.
Her breathing was unsteady, she couldn't get enough air in and her mind was in complete disarray. She wanted to cry but she was too frightened to do it, in all this she had but just one question.
Where am I?
She had woken up that morning in an unfamiliar bed, her clothes were different too and then she heared someone coming towards the room. In her panic she locked herself in.
Nothing made sense, she shook every time the person on the other side banged on the door and called her a name she was so sure was not hers. Maybe it was a nightmare but then it was too real to believe such a lie.

"I know that you are in there."

She couldn't breathe anymore and she tried so hard but no air could get through in her panic then she heard the door breaking off it's hinges. That did it, she passed out in her terrified state.
"Jess! honey, what is wrong."
What happened? she passed out right?
She flinched when she felt a hand touch her.
"Jesus honey what got you so spooked?" she heard a soft a caring voice, one she knew too well.
"Mum?" she tested the word out.
Her voice came out low and shaky.
"Yes" her mom hugged her and patted her on her hair
"Who is Veronica?"
