Once upon a time there lived a family just in the middle of town. The family was neither too poor or too rich. The man who was called Amaichi had two plots of lands which his late father had left behind for him since he was the only son. Amaichi was 34 years of age and was already planning on getting a wife since age was no longer on his side any longer. Amaichi had been admiring a maiden named Amaka. Amaichi told Amaka of his marital plans and proposed to Amaka. Amaka accepted his marriage proposal and Amaichi promised to come with his kinsmen on his decision to get married to her. Amaichi however came various times to visit
Amaka and help her out with breaking of firewood, helping to fetch water from the village river and so on. Amaka's mother disliked Amaichi because he was not hand-some as if he was poor, but Amaka's father saw Amaichi as his son and approved of the marriage and gave them his fatherly blessings.
