The Cliffs Edge.
She looked down at the edge of the cliff, underneath the cliff the ocean was swaying backward and forward, she watched it taking in the sound of the water, the smell of the salty water filling her nostrils. She sat herself down on the cliff edge taking in the scene with awe, she loved how natural everything was here, the calming feeling that ran through her, while she was sat there.

He looked over at the woman sitting on the edge of the cliff, she had been puzzling him the whole time she had been standing there.
"Do you think she's alright over there?" he asked his younger brother as they sat on the beach with his brother Tyler, sister Jennifer, and her boyfriend Josh. They were busy having a picnic and drinking beers.
"You've been watching her since she walked past us" Jennifer pointed out.
"Well not many people sit that close to the edge," he said in defense. She smiled at her older brother, knowing he had taken a fancy to her.
"He has got a point though" Tyler stated
"I dunno' Nick, why don't you go over and talk to her?" Josh suggested.
"I dunno I don't wanna' make her jump while she's so close to the edge." He replied
"You could be stopping her from jumping though" Tyler chipped in
"Are you sure you want to go over to some potential nut case?" Jennifer questioned.

She looked around her, noticing the group enjoying their normal picnic, wondering why they weren't further down the beach when there were a couple of surfboards with them. Looking back down at the water, which was seeming to get a little bit faster. She loved sitting here, just everything about it eased her. She had been feeling uptight and frustrated when she had first arrived, but now was feeling a lot calmer in herself, the argument with her boss at work had been running through her mind, but had started to ease up a bit.
"Hey," A voice said from behind her she looked around to see a handsome figure standing looking at her his dark brown hair was short but well styled, and he looked as though he worked out a lot and was wearing loose denim shorts and a white shirt that was slightly in buttoned as it was quite a warm night, her eyes met his blue eyes.
"Hi," she answered, noticing he had two unopened beer bottles in his hands.
"Is it alright to join you?" He asked her, she nodded in response. Not having any good reason to refuse him.
"Here, thought you might want one of these," he told her handing her one of the beers, which felt colder than she had thought it was going to be, he sat himself down next to her allowing his legs to swing for a moment of the edge.
"Thanks," she said
"Here let me open that for you" he suggested, he opened it with ease and handed it back to her. She smiled at him fully and took a swing from the bottle.
"Needed that" she commented,
"You're not going to jump off here are you?"
"No of course not, I just like to sit here." She informed him
"Phew, I just needed to check" he confessed.
"You don't have to worry" she promised him, "When I've had a bad day I come here" she added truthfully.
"Only the tough days?"
"No sometimes good days too, it's my favorite place on this island" She admitted, not sure why she was admitting that to him, she just felt the need to, something about him relaxed her enough to open up to him.

"What do you think they're talking about?" Jennifer asked Tyler and Josh
"He's probably trying to make sure she's not likely to jump, if you're worried why don't you go over?" Josh told his girlfriend.
"No in case he has his flirt on," she answered truthfully.
"He spotted her, so he likes her" Tyler commented, knowing his brother well.
"Otherwise he would never have gone over" Josh laughed.
"He knows nothing about her," Jennifer remarked
"The only way you get to know someone is by talking to them." Tyler pointed out
"Well I know that, but what if she is genuinely a nut case?" she asked them, "He usually attracts that sort of woman" she added.
"Hannah wasn't too bad," Tyler said, "Shame they broke up really" he added.
"Well let's hope this one isn't anything like his usual type of girl" Jen' said flatly
"Whoa your jumping ahead ain't ya, he's only talking to the bird" Josh pointed out.

"Aren't I keeping you from your friends?" She asked him taking a swig of the beer
"Nah, we see loads of each other, it's my brother, sister, and her boyfriend"
"A family outing, there important you know"
"They are but we're all around each other more than we are with our mates"
"Your all close then"
"Yeh' I'd say so" he admitted, "You should join us" he suggested, the little time he had spent talking to her, he had enjoyed it.
"I dunno', I'd feel like I was gate-crashing" she found herself admitting, not sure why she was being so honest to him, she just felt like she could be with him, which was a completely new feeling, she liked how the little time they had been talking it had just felt comfortable and completely natural, he seemed to enjoy similar things to her, so she was finding out. Something else she was found to be new. Maybe it was his dashing good looks and the handsome smile.
"you wouldn't be gate-crashing, you'd be an asset to our little group" he tried to assure her. She looked back down at the ocean below her, before finding herself agreeing.
