scary confession of a visitor!
Well, you all know that I am a hotelier and have worked in a few of the most beautiful and largest brands of India. Recently when I was speaking to one of a very friendly guest whom I know from my last workplace, I got to know something really shocking. I always heard many such stories from my colleagues and staff there but this was the first time when a guest told me about her scary incident in our hotel.
******************************************
This incident is dated nearly a years back in December. I and my husband went for our honeymoon. We were staying in a 5-star hotel in a beach facing suite room.
The moment I reached the room I had an odd chill feeling, but I avoided it understanding it's the temperature control problem.
I decided to freshen up directly after reaching and my husband went into the hallway for a smoke. He closed the big centre door before smoking so that the smoke would not reach in the room, as I disliked the smoke.
I was in the washroom scrubbing my face when suddenly the lights went off. I did not get frightened at that time and continued washing my face. Shortly I listened to the centre door being opened up and someone walking in. I thought it's my husband.
The footsteps came upon the corridor of the washroom and ended. I paused for him to come inside but he did not.
Surprisingly, I began to get the frostiness and sick feeling and goosebumps. I got terrified and screamed my husband's name loudly. The minute I cried out, the lights turned on. I rinsed my face and ran towards the theatre. My husband was still smoking, I inquired him if he came in, but he informed he hadn't moved from his chair at all. Then I inquired him if the power went and he got even more confused. I told him what I experienced but he laughed at me assuming that I was overthinking and made me calm down.
Our room used to turn unexplainably cold even after turning the room temperature controller to hot. I tried to turn off the Air Conditioner so that the room would become warm and stuffy, but this also did not help. Our room would turn so frigid that even two big and heavy blankets would not stop us from trembling.
I often felt somebody was following us from the hallway of our room. I did not inform this to my husband feeling that he will get scared because he is a bit scared of this stuff. We used to spend the maximum of our time outside in the lobby or the lounge and take off to our room only late at night.
The day we left the hotel I confronted my husband with my experiences there and to my shock, he said that he also was feeling the same there but didn't tell me thinking that it might frighten me. Then I recalled how he used to force me to wait outdoors most of the time and spend the least time in the room.

I really don't know what to speak to her about this incident and her terrible experience in the hotel but somewhere deep inside I was terrified too.
