THE NIGHTMARE...

©️ Late in the night, the lights went off scaring her to death. Holding an emergency lamp, she wandered along the long hallway of her huge mansion. The exhaustion of the torch made it fall dead. She jumped on her place on the sudden change. She blinked to adjust her eyes to the darkness when the lights flickered on. The power was back. Tossing the torch away, she walked to the big window from where the cool breeze hit her softly caressing her locks and gently kissing her pretty face. Asiding the curtains, she observed out.

The streetlights were dim as the mist enclosed it in its mysterious grip. She peered out of her window into the darkness wailing over her life as dark as the night outside. A frame flashed right in front of the window in the dark. She wondered if it was there someone out there or was it just her imagination? Rubbing her eyes in surprise, she peeked out to get a good view of the tall human-like frame wavering infront of her popping eyes. Fear gripped her as she fisted her dress firmly. Just before she moved away, the frame began approaching her in a swift pace. Sweat began dripping down her forehead and neck as the lights flickered on and off adding a dramatic turn over to her situation. The horrifying scowling of the wind sent currents in her fragile body. The curtains began swaying dangerously inside as if dancing to wild and terrible tunes. Taking a scary glance at her surroundings, her gaze shifted to the outside where the frame was. The frame neared her in the speed of light enough to pound her heart down rapidly almost ready to burst out of a frightened apprehension when she sat up in a jerk.

"Ahh..." she gasped loudly, followed by a loud shrill scream of hers while sweating profusely. Turning the lights on, she palmed her face lightly patting herself feebly. Her heart began throbbing in sheer fear. Distress washed over her face as she took horrified looks around the room. To her surprise and shock, she found herself on her soft and bouncy bed covered in a quilt. The window jerked open with a cracking noise scaring her again bringing the memories of her nightmare back. A gush of cold winter wind came in touching her face as she closed her eyes feeling calm. A wave of relief sent peace to her shivering body. She rested her head against the headboard of her bed with closed eyes feeling relaxed thinking it was just a NIGHTMARE that shook her off from her sleep. Feeling reposed and solace in the warm embrace of her soft yet warm quilt, her body stretched back straight on the bed. With head on the pillow, her mind relaxed as she went back to her sleep...! ©️
