Chapter 5: Take her wedding chain off
"Dad... you haven't spoken to Meenakshi's parents. You've not asked if they approve of this wedding. All of you are in a mood to convince my bestie without the consent of her parents....." said Pruthvi.
"Ohh... you are right dear.... " said Malvika.
"Wow... finally... for the first time in your life, you've put your brain to use....." said Rajveer.
"My son is very intelligent. Dare you say a word to him..... Ask her parents' if they are interested in getting their daughter married to our son" said Malvika.
"I'm sorry about this. Mr Ravi, Gayathri, are you really interested in giving your daughter's hand in marriage to our son?" Asked Rajveer politely.
This was another shock to Meenakshi's parents and brother as they weren't expecting the king himself to be so polite and kind to them.
"Honestly speaking, I was hesitant to send Meenu to your place as well but Pruthvi was adamant in bringing her here. I was sitting here with a plan of taking my daughter away as I was pretty sure that you wouldn't be accepting the marriage. But, I've changed my opinion after speaking to you. I never knew that you and your family are so grounded and value my daughter's opinion. I probably now have found a family that treats my daughter like theirs. I probably will not have to think about society's opinion on this as well...." said Ravi.
Hearing her father's words, "I guess, accepting this wedding would be the only way I can return the favour done by this family to me.... I will do it...." says Meenakshi to herself. She just looks into her brother's eyes to know if he was fine with it.
As for Meenakshi, her brother and Pruthvi matter the most to her in this world. After them, it was her parents. She was ready to fight with the world for their happiness. Sacrificing her life was a petty thing.
He holds her hand and whispers in her ear, "if your heart says no, just say no. But, I definitely feel Arjun is decent enough... if you wanna test him, I'll invite him home...."
Meenakshi nods her head in no. No one was able to understand their conversation but Meenakshi's head movement that was saying no, had definitely affected Arjun.

"I want to give her all the freedom to think and follow her heart. Only when the heart says yes, she will wear it back.... if it says no, there is no point in wearing it" says Rajveer.
