Prologue: dream of destiny.

" we don't have much time. Nothing else matters now but the soul of Egbesu. I've found a way to preserve this power. I must protect it from getting into the wrong hands. We must go now."

He set out running through the forest.

Carrying his wife and a new born child.

It is a mangrove rain forest.

He's footsteps was as fast as that of a cheetah running after its prey.

Where ever he stepped his feet.

The life within the plants around turned dark instantly.

Causing the leafs to dry out and break into ashes.

There were sudden Indistinct voices approaching from every corner of the bushes.

They were many.

There screams echoed through the caves in the forest. Causing the birds to fly away in fear.

They were closing up fast.

And he stopped to hide himself and the child with the mother.

In a cave very dark but seem to have many roads at every end.

" follow this cave and run as fast you can. I'll try to hold them back to buy you enough time. I don't know where else to hide from him. I trust you'll be safe with the baby."

"no, no, I don't want to lose you Owei! I can't fight without your strength. Please come with us!"

She pleaded with tears rolling down her cheeks.

Her heart pounding really fast though she wasn't the one doing the running.

The cry of the little child was heard faintly in her ears.

Her mind was focused on the safety of her husband.

She grabbed him by the hand and looked him in the eyes with a frightened gaze.

"you don't have to do this my love. There's always another way."

"what other way it is?"

"give him the child and let peace reign."

"never! Him having this child will only cause an endless war. I can't risk the life of others when I have a solution myself."

He looked back into her eyes.

Sweat was dripping down his forehead.

He held her firmly and made a smirk.

" the baby will be fine I promise."

The noise chasing them was closer now.

The cry of the baby had called him to there hidout.

She was panting when he pushed her away from his grasp slowly.

An army of unidentified creatures rushed at Owei.

He stood his ground and fought back swiftly.

His eyes turned red like blood.

Every slashing he made was a count.

With the help of his conjured weapon, he split the bodies of the creatures attacking them.

" I, I can take them. I can take them all! you must go without me! Go now, you must run!"

Owei yelled at his wife to run for it but she seemed ready to die with by his side.

He could take down a dozen of soldiers without any loss of blood from his body.

He can take them all with him with his magic.

but the cave will collapse on his wife and their baby.

However, this was no ordinary army.

They were fortified men with savage appearances.

He tried to unleash an extreme attack on them.

Without shaking the walls of the cave but it was too late.

He's move was dramatically tackled by another.

The savagery of this soldier is beyond comparison.

He was eight feet tall.

He's skin was pale and his eyes blue like that of the ocean.

He's hair were completely grey and it reached the end of his long neck.

While Owei struggled to break lose from he's grasp.

The giant stood still staring at the crying child not very far from his reach.

It is was him.

"run. run for your life."

Owei said faintly as he coughed blood from his mouth.

He was pinned to the blood stained soil with one hand from the giant.

The grip from the strong arms of the giant had caused his excessive bleeding and broken right arm.

The gigantic man moved away from Owei who could barely move a muscle.

He headed straight towards the woman carrying the baby.

She stood up to run but there was no way out.

The numerous roads she'd seen in the cave has varnished out of sight.

Suddenly, a portal like wind started pulling her and the child.

Owei had summoned a portal with the last of his strength.

Before the wind could pull the wife and the child through the portal.

A dark spear penetrated her chest and she fell into the portal.

The grey haired giant turned around to face Owei who was on the verge of death.

" Owei! you will bring her back!"

His voice sounded like that of many rivers.

He pulled Owei up from the ground to his height.

Owei struggled to raise his head and looked the giant in the eyes.

His body was motionless but he spoke faintly after a short chuckle.

" not on your generation."

He's eyeslids slowly closed like a man struggling not to fall asleep.

The giant was furious after Owei said no more.

He dragged the dying husband by the leg and disappeared into thin air.

I woke up in the morning, perplexed and anxious.

These dreams play endlessly in my head.

Could it mean something like that actually happened for real?

If only he got hold of the child before the portal closed.

He wouldn't think twice snapping the neck of his prey on time.
