LEADERS AND READERS
Leaders are readers but not all readers become leaders. Whenever you step into a library, a bookstore or a bookshelf, what exactly do you look out for? A newly published book with a fascinating title? A particular popular author that grips your interest? An enticing title everyone else is talking about? Or a book which meets a specific need in your life?

So many people read lots of books. Their libraries are stucked up with series of titles that could meet the eyes. They brag and boast of the several authors they have encountered. They make and write out quotes to prove their points yet much progress is not visible in their careers, purpose and life.

Every leader understands the power of intentionality when it comes to the content they absorb. They understand that every author writes to meet a specific need. The leaders' needs go a long way in determining what they read. They study with the aim of getting help. The read books that help them get to the top and those that help them stay there. When they spot deficiencies, they seek help most times in books. When they get into a new industry, they read to be enlightened about their fields. And ultimately, leaders read in order to keep leading.

Are you a leader in your field? What problems are you battling with? Are you comfortable where you are? Do you want to make a difference? Check your reading culture. It is not so much about how many books you have read in your life time. It is about how many books have helped you become a better person.

Do you want to grow spiritually? Read spiritual books. You want to improve your finances? Read books on finance. You want to build your business? Read business related books. You need motivation? Read inspirational books. You want to pass exams? Read relevant books... We must be intentional and focused in our study lives.

Study to show yourself approved, a Workman that needs not to be ashamed. Read with the aim of knowledge, study with the aim of growth. But principally be disciplined to put your study into practice.
