The weather was rather good today as compared to yesterday. The Kanchenjunga was visible from our bungalow in the morning. The previous day it was totally covered with clouds. I was sitting in an easy chair enjoying the view when suddenly Mr.D'Cruz called me and invited me to his house for lunch.

I reached his place by half past one. After spending time with him I learnt that he has settled in Darjeeling and is living with his son. He said his wife died few years back. He has now become rather dependent on his son.
After lunch we decided to go for a walk.

Mr.D'Cruz said,' I see that you came come for a holiday. This is quite a odd time for holiday, isn't it ? '. I replied, ' Yes, you are right. I needed some fresh air. At my place among all that law books and stuff I feel very suffocated maybe because it reminds me of my job very frequently.'

He said,' I understand. After all your job wasn't appreciated by many people.'

I felt rather uneasy with his statement maybe because it is true. Many people have hatred inside them for me for thay think I am the one who killed on of their own.

Mr.D'Cruz continued,' I hope your holiday doesn't turn out to be any disaster.'

Saying this he started walking back to his house making a sad sort of face. I was confused by his words. Anyway, I too was tired so I returned and went to take a nap.

My nap was broken by a knocking on my door. I opened and found that the caretaker was standing. He was looking rather scared. He told me without any delay that Rohit has been attacked. I was shocked. He was sitting on the sofa with a ice bag on his head.

I asked what happened. He said,' I don't know. I went to the Pharmacy to buy your medicines. While coming back someone threw a stone at me. Thank fully it was a small one.'

My heart was beating fast. I didn't know what to do. Suddenly I remembered the words of Mr.D'Cruz. Was his prediction gonna be true?
