The journey
That feeling inside that's kept you going so long,
You wake up one morning only to find that it's gone,
An the path that lies ahead forks off to a road,
And your heart is so heavy with this terrible load.
How do you see clearly when the sky is so dark,
Do you follow the sounds of that so distant lark,
Do you walk in the darkness alone and afraid,
With that sinking feeling you wish you had stayed.
So you walk for a while and the thorns they do scratch,
You keep going through brambles until you come to a patch,
The most beautiful place you have ever seen,
Where the blue sky reflects in the babbling stream,
And you turn back to look at the path that you chose,
and that scent of despair now smells like a rose,
The mountains you've climbed all crumble and fall,
And you walk on again as you hear happiness call...
