In a little world ( Final Part )
The next morning Monu was sitting at one corner of the lawn while trying to come up with a way to crosss the wall of the nearest house. He thought of using the same solution as before but the soil outside is impenetrable and full of little thorny bushes. He could carry mud from this yard but that will be very difficult. He needed a better and more convenient way. He kept thinking.

His thought was interrupted with a scream. Monu recognized the voice immediately. It was Mother's. He quickly ran towards the scream and froze as soon as he realized what happened. Mother fell into the hole he dug. She was bleeding from few places.

Monu's brothers and sisters quikly helped Mother get up from the hole and took her to bed. Monu couldn't do a single thing. He just stood there.

"What have I done?" - Monu asked himself. The immense regret was eating him alive. His eyesight became hazy with all the tears.

Mother noticed Monu, standing outside the door.

"Come close, dear. Why are you standing there?"- She asked in a trembling voice.

Monu realised Mother was desperately hiding the pain.

"Mother. I... I am sorry. I didn't.."

"Ah. Don't blame yourself Monu"- Mother didn't let Monu finish.

"I was being careless and.." - She took a pause. The pain was getting more and more irresistible.

"Pakhi, can you bring me some water" - Mother somehow uttered the words.

Pakhi ran outside and quickly came back with a bowl of water. She didn't need to go to the fountain as Monu's water channel was right outside.

Mother took the bowl of water in her hand. She then smiled at Monu for some reason and then drank all the water.

That night Monu couldn't sleep at all. He kept crying all night long.

The next morning the first thing that came to his mind was to put a end to his nonsense stuff. He decided not to be the reason for the suffering of his Mother or siblings again. He grabbed the tool he made from the blue stone and threw it away. It was that tool with which he dug that hole.

The tool couldn't cross the wall. It hit the wall and fell beside the water channel. Maybe Monu was not so determined after all. He couldn't throw the tool over the wall and lose sight of it permanently. It was a result of his hard work and he developed an affection towards that belonging.

He picked it up again and suddenly a thought came to his mind. He finally understood why Mother smiled at him. The water she was drinking, Pakhi brought it from the water channel and Mother didn't need to wait long to quench her thirst. Monu made that channel using the same tool he used to dug the hole.

Monu looked at the tool in his hand. His eyes lightened up. He quickly ran towards Mother's room.

"Mother. I understand now. I will not stop with my explorations. I will not stop with my inventions. I don't need to stop with any of that". - Monu said in one breath. Excitement was flowing through his veins.

Mother knew this side of Monu. That look, that smile. It happened every time Monu discovered something amazing. But this time it was more than that. It was like he made the greatest discovery of all time.

"So, what will be different from now on", - Mother asked.

"From now on I will take extra care that none of my works ever harm you or my brothers and sisters. And moreover I will make things to meet the needs of my family just like I made the water channel. There will be no more holes from now on. I will care about my family and I will protect my family. But I will not stop with the search for the unknown. I must learn to balance these two and these two must learn to coexist from now on" - Monu stopped and waited for Mother's response.

Mother didn't say a word. She smiled and offered a hug instead. Monu felt relieved while hugging Mother. He remembered how he used to feel that much relieved and comfortable in Mother's lap at night. He hadn't done it in a long time. He looked up to Mother and asked - "Can I sleep on your lap tonight?"

Mother gently ran her fingers through Monu's hair and replied - "Obviously, you can, my child"
