We are few days short of celebrating women’s day. It went down with great pump, and billions of women across the world came out on social media to extol and hype the women faction.

What I noted was, we were consistently hyping the working class women while pushing the narrative that women should lead in the place of men or at least, get the same privilege that men had gotten over time.

This discussion which brokered arguments for a couple of decades is not wrong, neither is it right. Women are not men. Yet, we deserve respect. As a working class woman, you deserve to be respected and have your views heard. You do not deserved to be pushed over like you do not matter, for you do matter.

It’s quite perplexing to see sexism in the workforce. It causes women to work harder than the normal, to prove a point. What exactly is it they want to prove? To prove they deserve a seat at the table. It shouldn’t be so but society leaves us no room for pity party. Hence, the coin; what a man can do, a woman can do better.

It may be true in most cases, but it’s not always the truth.
