Chris Lewis aka The Walking Man
I would like to share a story about a very inspiring man.
Christian Lewis a former paratrooper in the British army found himself on the streets suffering from depression, he managed to get a flat in Swansea,Wales but after a while found he couldn't cope with the rent etc.
On August the first 2017 he left this life behind him with just £10 in his pocket he set out to walk the entire British coastline hoping to raise some money for SSAFA the armed forces charity, after nine months on the road, living off the land in his tent he found himself in Ireland, here he acquired a rescue dog named Jet who has accompanied ever since.
While in Scotland he met a lady named Kate, who was doing some wild camping, they sat and chatted, Kate went off and brought them both fish n chips, they sat chatting until 3am, in the morning going their separate ways but weeks later met again, Kate asked if she could accompany him and Jet, they have been together since , walking in all weather.
Along the way Kate found out she was pregnant, they now have a Son named Magnus, who now also is part of the team. Unfortunately at the moment Kate is injured but will be returning with Magnus shortly.
People wherever they go now donate food, a hot shower and even accommodation for the night.
The current fund raised for SSAFA is in excess of £330, 000 , they hope to raise £500,000, Chris posts on Facebook at least a couple of times a day with updates, he is always smiling and chuckling away, whenever you feel down check out this inspirational man.
