Pick your Poison-Chapter 38: No promises
Chapter 38: No promises
Ziesha

The sun was already bright and shining when Ziesha finally willed herself off the bed and into the kitchen. She'd already washed up and was in the process of preparing breakfast. Opting for the simplest, toast and tea, she turned on the radio to avoid the uncomfortable silence.

Caleb was still asleep-dead asleep and it looked like he desperately needed it. Since Tuesday's incident, the guy hardly got any rest; always making sure they were safe and not being watched. Uh correction, always making sure that she was safe.

About three of the surveillance cameras had been destroyed by God knows who and Caleb refused to sleep until they were back up in working condition, which only happened last night. Dino had sent someone by the name of Leo to help get them fixed and to drop of some extra weapons-just in case.

Yup. That was definitely one hell of a bomb Caleb had thrown at her. First, he'd had her fake their own kidnapping. Now, way too delayed, he tells her that they might be dealing with killers. Killers! As totally against murdering someone, Ziesha knew that Caleb would do it to save her. So for now, she'd kept her mouth closed and listened to his million 'orders.'

The toaster popped a few minutes after and she removed the toast to cool.

On the bright side though, Randal was being released today. And the even more surprising thing was that her dad decided to drop the story against Randal from his news channel. Caleb had told her that her dad might have been forced to do that but it was still in their favor since dad had at least one copy of the evidence and if he didn't give it up, they had more time.

On the shitty side, dad still refused to tell the name of the man threatening him for Randal's imprisonment. Caleb and Dino had sent Ryan to get that information and each time, he failed. Ziesha just didn't get it. If dad was aware that she was with Caleb, he knew she was safe so why wouldn't he just talk and let them in on what's happening on his side. Something did not tie up there. It was as if he could not say anything because he didn't know if his daughters were safe. If dad-

A movement behind her caused Ziesha to freeze. She slowly picked up the knife from the counter.

"Morning beautiful." Caleb pressed himself against her from behind. Ziesha breathed out loud, a little relieved and a little annoyed. "You shouldn't do that Caleb!" she blasted, "considering our situation." "Sorry love." He took the knife from her and put it down, while kissing her neck.

"Why didn't you wake me up?" "Cause you was asleep. Waking you up would make me evil." She turned around and leaned back against the counter. "You can never be evil, trust me. Slept well?" Caleb kissed her full on the mouth until her knees became wobbly. She clung onto him for support.

She did sleep, only when Caleb arrived back inside the house with her. "Yeah, did you? Did Leo leave?" He nodded. "Uh-huh, straight after we sorted out the cameras. He needed to be back in Jozi...sorry I didn't stay much with you yesterday. I had to make sure everything was functioning properly."

Ziesha wondered what the rush was for Leo to leave that quickly but didn't ask. That guy didn't seem too sociable, looked more uptight than Dino. But they had the same dials-tattoos, gangster...
