Starfish Diaries: A Poetic Journey
I met a girl once, Eyes like stars in the sky, twinkling with delight, I loved her from first sight... She said "I'm a starfish and you are too; no matter if you like it or not I'll be stuck to you." I believed it when she said she loved me too, but it wasn't true. Or maybe Confessions came too late, my best friend and mate, always with full plate. I was scared to tempt fate, so I lost her to the street, now she's no longer willing to meet, layed the cross at my feet, for love to die upon. Torturing self for love, saying sometimes it comes at a cost, but I will be a Martyr no more. I am done waiting for a love from childhood core. I let her go long ago, walked away to both our dismay. So, I must stop looking back hoping to see her without addiction's Quell, returning from hell, now well, wanting to make love grow and swell... Heart fell. Nothing can fix how it felt walking away, and to this day I still can't get her out of my brain, yet it's no longer as if I'm going insane. So, I won't reach out in vain only to be hurt again. Now a thousand times I've tempted fate and Im sure it'd be the death of me if I continue to wait, for love held a place, knowing she will not return with glee wanting to be with me. For she'd never be free from childhood memories...
