The cold water calmed the racing heart within me as I splashed it on my face. It eased my anxiety, and tiny droplets on my tee-shirt reminded me of a mole on her eye, a charming mark she couldn't see due to her inability to wink. I decided to capture her beauty in a peaceful moment.
After drying off, I faced the mirror, noticing the tiredness around my eyes from sleepless nights. Despite that, I left the bathroom, spotting my cherished six-stringed Pluto on the couch, a gift from Dad last Christmas. The mahogany beauty always brought me joy.
I never let go of it. I carried it around proudly and kept the marks on my fingertips like a soldier showing off battle scars. I smiled as I remembered the time we spent together, practicing and singing the song. The song brought back strong emotions, making me feel nervous and causing me to run to the bathroom. When I returned, I had more stains on my shirt. I sighed deeply, trying to calm my emotions.
