The boy who cried
There once was a boy, raised the same as the rest, he was told to hold it in if he ever felt like he wanted to cry. Years went by like this and the boy is now in highschool. Highschool is already proving to be a nightmare straight from hell, but he had one bright side to it all. He had made a friend, a small, pale fragile looking girl. She was extremely protective over him immediately after their friendship had started. The boy stayed near her as much as he could, it felt as though she was his safe haven. As they continued through highschool the boy became more and more sad, and the girl strongly encouraged him to talk to a counselor, she even offered to go with him. Only with her by his side did he get the courage to go, depression...he had been diagnosed with depression. His dearest friend just smiled sweetly at him and told him that it was okay to not be okay, she'd be here til the very end. For the first time, the boy cried, he cried and cried as the girl held him, gently rubbing his back and whispering soothing words to him. When they got back to school rumors went around that the boy was weak, that he was a sissy that cried. This infuriated the girl and at lunch, she stood on the table and yelled out "Listen here! Boys have feelings to you know?! They're human just like us girls! It's okay to cry, it's okay to not be okay! Reach out and I'll gladdly lend you a hand! But don't go knocking the guys who cry, because you know what?! it takes a lot to get them to that point, so instead of haha sissy, why don't you ask them what's wrong?!". The girl then got off the table, annoyed but relieved to have gotten that off her chest as she went to her dearest friend and gave him a hug. The boy was astonished, someone had stood up not only for him, but for guys all over. It was at that point, he knew she was a keeper, a hidden gem within all the coal. So that very day he had asked her out, and she happily said yes. She had become his everything, he knew he could be himself with her. He knew he could let his guard down, he could show his emotions, thanks to her.
Graduation, the young man and young woman were finally graduating and leaving the hell known as highschool. When the young man had his turn to say his few words, he started with "I'd like to thank my beloved, for giving me the courage to be me, no hiding certain parts because everyone says to...that being said...will you marry me my love?". The young man asked, now down on one knee with a ring out. He couldn't imagine a life without her, and she couldn't imagine a life without him, so she happily said yes! For the rest of their life they stayed side by side, unafraid of what anyone said or thought. They lived happily and on the down days, she loved him that much more.
