Stars shine differently
The stars were shining differently tonight, instead of the shiny bright light they usually portrayed to the world, they were flashing from normal to green.
"Well I never!" Bill commented, "I've never seen them do that before" he announced, sitting around the camp fire, looking directly up at the stars in the night sky. They had made a campfire for themselves a few feet away from their caravans.
"What are they doing?" Nina questioned, looking up at what the others were looking up at. She gasped as her eyes fell upon the stars, "Why are they doing that?" She asked them.
"No idea, maybe the internet will tell us" Harrison suggested.
"You young uns rely on that, way too much nowadays" Bill stated.
"That's what it's there for grandad"
"I know, but what would you all do if it weren't there anymore?" He asked them, he was a seventy four year old man, with short white hair and a beard, with grey eyes.
They had all agreed to have a family couple of nights away in caravans for his birthday, Bill loved the great outdoors, nothing had changed with that, just his age. Now he had caravans instead of tents like he used to have, but knowing he would never have been able to get himself in and out of one, as easily as he had once been able to, he had suggested the caravan idea, pleased everyone had agreed and actually done what they could in order to attend his birthday celebration.

"Darn there's no signal here" Layla grumbled from her camping chair, she put the phone back into the cup pocket of the chair and frowned
"See, like your sister there look how depressed she's gone" Bill teased
"It's supposed to be the best range that's why?" Layla moaned, nineteen years old and very much her phone's best friend, she loved to be in contact with everyone and ninety eight per cent of the time, you would find her with phone in her hand or by her ear.
"This is the countryside" He reminded her, smiling to himself, he had grown quite a lot of resentment towards them, as he watched the youth of the day just wasting their lives on their phones, everywhere you went, you could hear conversations you couldn't help over hearing or people taking photos constantly and even video chats happening as there walking around. But that was his personal view of them, not anyone else's.
"Why do you think the stars are doing that?" Doug asked his father
"No idea son...I've genuinely never seen it before." He admitted.
"They look like they're all flashing though, what if they aren't stars?" Harrison said excitedly
"What else would they be?" Doug asked his son,
"Well it could be ufos" Harrison replied, much to his dads distaste
"Don't be silly," Doug answered
"Why couldn't it be?" Harrison demanded to know, he was a true believer in all things alien or paranormal, whereas his family were completely the opposite.
"Now, now Doug, the boy has his own beliefs, he's not alone in believing in them, there are loads of people out there that do" Bill reminded him.
"Yeah I know, doesn't mean my son has to follow them. Does it" Doug commented
"What if he wants to? I never stopped you when you had phases you went through" Bill pointed out.
"I know but come on, aliens?" Doug mocked.
"It's as good as any other phase" Bill answered, "It could be a lot worse, trust me on that"
For the rest of that evening they continued to watch the stars totally bewildered, none of them knowing why they were so different tonight, however, they came up with loads of different explanations, with no true or false answers.
