The waves rolled onto the beach sending salty spray up into the air cascading back down like rain. The moon was silver and the night was silent, except for the sound of a night bird. Alia placed her toes in to the freezing water, if she fell in it would be the end of her. She had to collect some seaweed for her mother to make sushi back home. She held out her long net and swished it into the ocean.. steadying herself on the rocks she pulled the net out and there was only pieces of back and some stray leaves. She tried again and caught nothing but one little silver fish, she was getting tired and the sun was coming up. The golden glow of the sun on the horizon was reflecting on the water. Alia went in up to her knees and the waves splashed around her, it can't be that could, she thought to herself.. she went in up to her shoulders. She laughed and played, forgetting the dangers until she felt a slimy scaly creature passing her hand.. she squealed and it dragged her under. Her hands flying everywhere in panic, her feet failing to bring her to the surface. Bubbles rose to the surface, but her cries were muffled.. she used every last muscle inside her but she was too deep. No-one could hear her, no one could see her.. she was all alone drowning next to a shark.
