Aaron eyes are fixed at Regina's red cloaked back as they walk. Judging from the directions of the path, that he knew by heart, he was certain they were leaving for the Royal Palace.

He noticed that the Empress's face was grim as always but her usually relaxed posture was stiff. He could bet on his life that this had something to do with that maid's mysterious death.

He sighs lightly and shakes his head. He always thought that The empress took too much stress. She should be relaxed and cool, just like him. The blonde smiled like an idiot as he praised himself in his head. After all, he wouldn't dare say something like this to her face but someday he definitely would, he promised.

They kept changing paths until the Royal Palace was within their vision. The guards in their way bowed to show respect as they opened the entrance for them. Then they turned in the hallway to climb the stairs and didn't stop until they reached the third. On reaching the end of the third floor's hallway The Empress opened two metal doors that lead to her Personal study. No one had acess to this room. No one ever knew how she opened this door since it didn't have any locks or even a key hole. Aaron could proudly state that he was one of Regina's trusted people since this was his second time entering this place and of course he still didn't know how she opened this godforsaken door.

The door closed on its own when they entered the room, one of the room's speciality as Aaron got to know from Regina.

They were greeted with a scent filled with the mix of ink and wood. A grand wooden table and chair situated infront of a huge window hidden by two white curtains, the table top full of parchments, ink bottles and thick heavy books. Three cupboards situated at either ends of the room. One could see books filled in those cupboards from the glass doors of the cupboards. Aaron felt faint just by the sight of all these books and their musky scent.

" You may have a seat." Regina gestures at another the set of chairs and a small table that Aaron did not see earlier as she took her own seat behind her study table.

"We might have to wait." She said. This confused Aaron. Were they waiting fo someone?

"Why so?." He questions as his gaze landed at Regina dipping her pen in ink and writing something swiftly on one of the parchments.

Regina opened her mouth to answer but stopped midway. She stood abruptly and quickly unveiled the curtains of the sole window of the room. As soon as she opened the window a gush of cool wind rushed in swaying her smooth locks. The night sky was a breathtaking sight especially with full moon on rise.

She stepped aside to stand on the left side of the window.

Aaron was watching her actions with confusion plastered on his face.

"Why did you suddenly open-" Aaron was interrupted when a shiny object came flying at him with full speed through the open window and struck right at the door behind him with full force. Aaron felt something dripping down his cheek. He touched the spot and winched lightly as he looked at the blood that covered his finger. He guessed the thing is quite sharp.

Still touching the spot where the sharp thing grazed his cheek, he saw Regina walking towards the door and pulling out a dagger that she threw in the air almost immediately.
The dagger suddenly begins to change and shift, as it takes on a new form and structure. Within the blink of an eye, the dagger transforms into a person, as a figure suddenly stands before Regina and Aaron.

Aaron's eyes widened in surprise. "Brother Theo! You're back." He said happily. The mysterious figure was Verdentia's reputed General and Grand Duke, Theodore Beckinsale. As far as Aaron knew, after a recent battle with one of the Kingdoms in South West, he was sent as a representative of Verdentia for a political meeting.

Theodore has short dark black hair resembling the cool summer night. His eyes are a piercing red color, giving him an intense and intimidating appearance. He carries himself with a cold and aloof demeanour and gives off a serious and disciplined vibe. He is physically quite strong, with well-muscled and toned body and definitely is not the one to joke around unlike his brother Aaron.

"Hmm." He's gives Aaron a short nod of acknowledgement. Sometimes Aaron doubts that the real Royal Prince, Regina's brother is actually Theodore and not Derrek. But, then he recalls his brother's appearance which is similar to their mother's who is just as intimidating. Aaron on the other hand definitely takes after their father who has a playful persona as well. Therefore, there's no denying that Theodore is definitely his brother.

"Greetings to your Majesty." Theodore bowes deeply infront of Regina.

Aaron, just as always, gaped in disbelieve as his brother passed a whole statement of greeting to Regina while he has to make do with just a nod. Poor him, he thought. What an unfortunate brother he was but he could also not deny that Theodore was more close to Regina, not that he was complaining. Well strach that, he was.

"Greetings lord Beckinsale." Regina gives a nod acknowledgement. "Judging from how relaxed you look , I assume the agenda of the meeting was successful. " Regina stated. It always amused Aaron how Regina could read his brother so easily. Well, Regina was a close observer. She could read anyone easily and Theodore was no exception.

"Yes. It is." Theodore confirmed. Regina was pleased.

Aaron watched as they continued to exchange words. Truthfully, he was never interested in politics. He had long blacked out their conversation and went to stand near the window. He glanced at the bright moon. It seemed it was covered in snow with how bright it looked. He closed his eyes as he hummed along with the sound of the crickets.

"............a..de."

".............aside." He frowned with his eyes closed. He definitely heard something just now. He opened his eyes quickly.

"STEP ASIDE!" He saw a dark figure frantically coming towards him. He widened his eyes when he realised that that figure was about to collide against him.

"What-"
