My First Journey Away from my Country
It's my dream to go to different places around the globe. I love to see the real place which I just read only in the books and seen in television and social media.
In November 2008, I landed in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It's a country where women are fully covered from head to toe. I used to wear clothes that made me comfortable in my country unlike in KSA. Since I worked there, so I need to adapt their customs and traditions. I couldn't even talk to men eyes to eyes because if you do so, they would think and feel something different. I need to bow down my head while listening or talking with my male employer. It's not that easy at first but later on I used to do the way they did already. I learnt to speak their language too. I had an Indonesian, Sri Lankan and Ethiopian friends. The two years stay in KSA was really wonderful. I had a good employer and his family treated me as part of their family. I have a lot of good memories there. They treated me well but still I longed to be with my own family and came back home in my country in 2010.
