I was sitting in the drawing room when my mom came, i saw the tension on her temper, fear in her eyes mixed with bewilderment.

She sat beside me and looked into my eyes. I crossed my legs and shrugged.

“I read your diary today!!” she uttered hesitatingly.

A silence filled the room around us, shiver raced down my spine and a lump came to my throat.

All those life experiences, secrets, desire, want everything that you haven’t accepted in front of anyone is now sitting in front of you.

I knew exactly why was she was tensed and why she ain’t able to accept those writings of mine.

“Is it true that you are..” I heard a lot of embarrassment in her cracked voice.

“Yes! I am lesbian” she accepted these words with disgusted look but now her hesitation was gone.

She cried that this is such an embarrassing thing to accept for her, society will disgrace our family and how will my father face our relatives.

“We are not that late, we should consult a doctor soon so maybe they can…” she said with eyes full of tears.

I couldn't resist my myself after hearing this & shouted “Why are you so worried?

I’m not facing third stage cancer, it's just the way I am, since the day you gave me birth & I will be like this till I die.”

Being a bit different from fixed societal standards and Norms is legal but feels illegal in india.
Being a lesbian/gay feels illegal in india. Although, this story is not real and but situations in india are.

Edit: I'm not lesbian. It's a story based on social bigotry.
