The picture in the frame held a lot of memories. Some good, some sad. Her tired eyes roamed over it one last time before she tossed it in the fire. It was time to start afresh and bury the past in her palm,away from rememberence.She couldn't stand losing the last memory of such an adventurous lifetime that the now burning parchments represented,so she tried saving a remnant one,but not without a price.

There are sacrifices made in life that would not have been except for the force that love produces.Even Roshni herself hadn't heretofore pictured herself with a burnt palm,let alone to save a picture of a careless ex,at least according as she thought of him.As if the pain had lost it's stings and unwelcome sensations,she picked up the fortunate picture and slowly drew it close to her tear dampened lips.It wasn't to be out of Charley's sight,and when she saw him she placidly hid the image between her legs and on the fire kept astaring.

They had as if agreed to swallow words and stay dead silent.Not a word from both ends,just sobs and sighs were the best of sound to pick.Must she tell him that they were breaking to please her,or just to gratify an ancient law that prohibited marriage unions between an Indian damsel and an African young?Much as she loved him she also respected her culture,so she broke the silence and said....
