Krishna & Me - part -XVII
Me - Krishna, one needs to pray how many times a day or follow what disciplines to be able to know as your true devotee?
Krishna (God) - One does not pray need to pray or follow any discipline to become my true devotee. But there's one thing that if a person will follow he/ she will definitely become my true devotee.
Me - what is that thing??
Krishna (God) - Dharma! If one follows dharma, he /she will be blessed with happiness & peace for life and their soul will be immersed inside me after their death. Because one who is humble to all living beings is humble to me as I reside in every living being.
Me - But Krishna many a times people get confused between different types of Dharma and think that they have done adharma, so can you explain How many types of dharma are there.
Krishna (God) - There are three types of Dharma.
Me - What are those three types?
Krishna (God) - The first one is samanya dharma or universal Dharma. It is too be followed by everyone.
Samanya Dharma includes following
♦ Ahimsa ( non- violence)
♦ Satya ( Truthfulness)
♦ Nayay ( Justice)
♦ Daya (Kindness)
♦ Astey (Non- stealing)
♦ Paropkar (Helping others)
♦ Dana (Financial assistance)
♦ Shama ( mind control)
♦ Dama ( sensory control)
♦ Shauca (purity/cleanliness
♦Kshama (pardoning, only once)
♦ Akrodh ( controlling anger)
Me - What's the second type of Dharma?
Krishna (God) - Second type of Dharma is veshesha Dharna.
Me - Is it some kind of special dharma. ( Word vishesh means special in sanskrit)
Krishna - yes my dear, it can be classified into two types
1: Varna Dharma - On the basis of occupation.
Which further has 4 sub - types
I: Brahmana - One has who power of knowledge. Eg: doctors ,teachers, lawyers, priests etc.
II: kshatriya - one who has physical power. Eg: Army , police, political leaders etc
III: Vaisya - one who has power of wealth. Eg: traders , merchants, business man etc
IV - Shudra - One who has power of service. Eg: Farmers, transporters, shepherd etc.
2: Asrama Dharma - According to the stages of life.
Which can be further classified into 4 types
i. Bramacharya - Student Life/ bachelor's life.
ii. Grahast - Married life
iii. Vanaprast - Retired life.
iv. Sanayasa - Life as a saint ( away from all desires.)
Me - But if someone skips a stage of life. For eg: If someone follows Bramacharya his whole life & doesn't get married, is he doing Adharma?
Krishna (God) - No my dear, Adharma will be if be if a committed person is not loyal to his or her partner, Adharma will be if a student disrespects his teacher, Adharma will be if a person who has taken sanyas have filthy thoughts. Adharma will be person.
Me - And what is the third type of Dharma?
Krishna (God) - Third type of Dharma is Apat Dharma or Dharma followed during emergency.
Me - What dharma should one follow during emergency?
Krishna (God) - During emergency one should forget samanya Dharma & vishesh & do what is necessary.
For eg; if you kill a person without a reason it would be Adharma, but if a person is hurting & you find no ways to escape & hence you kill that person in self - defence, it would be Apat Dharma.
