The Transition
It was a poor typical conservative family with 4 children to look after.

She was the first child of the family.

At 5 years of age....
While seeing the other children playing happily, she wanted to play.

At 10 years of age....
She couldn't understand why she was not going to school like others.

At 16 years of age.....
She didn't know why she was sent to another house with a stranger in the name of marriage

At 18 years of age.....
She was the mother of a child.

On one day,she stood there silently peeping into her past.
The days when she wanted to study.
YES SHE WANTED TO FLY HIGH.
But her parents always told her to give up her dreams as they cannot afford for her. They have to take care of 3 children after her.Education was not meant for girls. She felt like her wings were cut off.She didn't say a word.

One day she was called from the field. She went home and saw a stranger sitting in the hut.Her parents told her to marry him.She protested but was convinced. They told that their burden might lessen. She didn't say a word.

Her flow of thoughts were stopped by the scream of her daughter,"Maa!"
She came running and asked what had happened by seeing her crying child.
She said,"Papa has come."
She understood everything.

Why didn't she understand?
It was a daily routine in her house. He comes drinking cheap liquor and beats her and her girl child.
She was a determined mother and she wanted her daughter to fly.She was saving money for that and her cruel husband wanted that money to drink.
She argued but was in vain.
That night she thought and came to a decision.

Time passed.....

A confident girl of age 21 years came running to her mother with a degree in her hand.
She said,"Maa!If you had not taken such a decision that day,I would not have achieved this.Thank you very much.I'll save some money for a foundation that can take care of girls with big dreams but can't make them true."

Her mother's eyes were filled with water.
She was the one who took the decision and came out of the hell to give her child the bright future. She ignored what the world says.

And her name was AASHA....meaning hope.
