Timeless Waves

“Tita Cello! There’s something in the water!” Jazz, my niece hurriedly pulls me towards the shore.
“Jazz, it’s just a fish.” I told my niece as she was so adamant to pull me to the waters.
“No tita! It’s really something else, look!” she insisted and point out something.
I squinted my eye to see want she was pointing at and gasped as I saw a form of a man floating. I crouched in front of my five-year-old niece and told her to call her parents for help.
She immediately followed my orders and quickly ran back to the house.
I quickened my pace and approached the waters to check the man.
I can feel my dress starting to get wet as I walked further to grab him.
After pulling him to the shore, I checked his pulse and sighed with relief.
“Cello!” I heard my sister called my name.
She was running towards me with her husband and Jazz.
“What happened? Who is he?” Jaime, my brother-in-law asked as he checked the man.
“I don’t know? But he’s still breathing and I can still feel his pulse. He’s alive right?” I asked him. And God knows how much relief I felt upon seeing him nod.
Jaime’s a doctor that’s why even though I already checked it, it still feels so reassuring to hear it from a professional.
“Let’s bring him in first.” I immediately agreed with Chi’s suggestion.
“Jaime, do you think we should send him to the hospital? It’s been three days and he’s not yet awake.”
“Calm down, Cel. I think he was just exhausted. From his appearance I think he’s a survivor of a shipwrecked.” he said while checking the man’s temperature.
“Tita! He’s awake!” I immediately turn my head to see if it’s true. And he was actually opening his eyes.
“Hey, are you okay? How do you feel?” Jaime asked. But he just shook his head, before trying to sit. I immediately helped him to a comfortable position as Jaime keeps on asking him questions when he later on answered.
“What’s your name?” I asked. He faced me and a hint of recognition flashed in his eyes.
“Cello?” I was dumbfounded when he called out my name.
“Do you know me?”
“I mean, do I know you?” I immediately asked again after realizing how rude I sounded with the first question.
“I promised you I’ll be back.” My eyes widened when he pulled me closer and hugged me tightly.
“Hey! Why are you hugging Tita Cello?! Who are you?” I heard Jazz called out before I felt her trying to separate us.
“Cello, it’s me Meyer.” he said when he saw me taking a step back away from him.
“What are you talking about?” I asked as my brows furrowed while trying to remember if I really know him.
“I don’t know you.” I said before leaving the room confused as to why I was so worried about him when he was unconscious and why I felt something when he said my name.
“You really don’t know him?” Chi asked while watching me paint their house.
“Absolutely not.” I said and stopped painting to look at the scenery in front of us.
Jazz was being chased by Meyer near the shore. The sun was already setting, it gave a melancholic atmosphere.
My gaze fixated at the man running after my niece, he was all smiles.
His name is Meyer Villadore. According to him, he was the captain of a ship. But we were looking for news about a shipwrecked nearby but there’s none.
He probably felt me staring at him so he turned around and met my eyes. He gave me a sad smile.
He was staying with us for a week now, but he kept on insisting that he knew me. I’m already starting to think that he was losing his mind after experiencing trauma from the shipwrecked he supposed to had experienced.
“Are you sure he’s not your ex and you’re just pretending not to know him?” I rolled my eyes at my sister who was pestering me for a week to confess.
“Come’ on look at him! He’s so --- “ She trailed off when she saw him approaching us, Jazz in his arms.
