To Meet God
"They say that to meet God, you should go up on the mountaintop. In the thinned air and on sacred ground, you just might hear His voice. Strange and still, both a whisper and a roar.

But I'll also tell you that more often than not, I've met Him on lower ground.

He walks at a crowded market, where the people move like a shoal of fish, and each one swims shielded in their own little bubble. He wanders in our untidy garden, with its misplaced pebbles and straggly plants needing the love of a more skilled gardener. He exists in the intricacy of a grass flower, overlooked in its commonness. He is heard in someone else's timely words, when they speak to my frustrating inner vagueness.

I've met Him even in the empire of my own emptiness, in the cesspool Valley of Emotion. Among the broken ruins of my ego, where the dead pretend to live and yet, are always hungry for some unsearchable thing. It is where I've gone to forsake old dreams but keep hoping for a revival. Yes, I've met Him there on sunken ground.

To meet God, just go every place. Or stay. It doesn't matter because He surrounds."

~ (Jeremiah 23:23-24) ' "Am I a God who is only close at hand?” says the Lord. “No, I am far away at the same time. Can anyone hide from me in a secret place? Am I not everywhere in all the heavens and earth?” says the Lord.' (06.10.21).
