The Promise Land (Inspiration of Exodus)
There you are once again Lord, a pillar of cloud by day, guiding me through the wilderness of life.
Even when times are dark on this journey, you become my pillar of fire by night. Encamping your spirit round about me as my protection.
Also leading me with your spirit when I’m lost, serving as my direction.
I tremble as your mighty voice begins to speak.
With a voice of majestic thunder, still you are my strength when I’m weak.
Still guiding me as a pillar of cloud by day and pillar of fire by night,
I continue to move as you move, yet being still when you stop with the promised land in sight.
Your tabernacle is my heart, in the holy of holiest is the mercy seat where your spirit dwells.
My atonement is Jesus Christ, The Lamb of God who became sin to save me from hell.
When my body is tired and I feel weary, Lord you provide me rest.
When I’m hungry in the wilderness, Lord you are my manna which is heaven’s best. When I’m thirsty, Jesus is the rock that Moses struck to give me water.
He is the ultimate sacrifice unto God Almighty when I have no burnt offering to slaughter.
Milk and honey are sweet to the tongue. Your living word is what I speak from my lungs.
All that I am and all I will become, to Yahweh I belong.
Everyday I wake is a new day as he continues to guide me along.
Yahweh is the God of his people, that he will not lead astray.
As Christ the Good Shepherd leads us to green pastures, for his flock, he is the way.
The Promise Land is not on Earth, but the path to eternal life in the spirit.
Just follow God’s voice and he will guide the way, just listen and you will hear it.
