An Autumn To Remember
The cool breeze swirled daintily and made the daisies bow with grace. As I strolled aimlessly down the path, I spotted a squirrel skipping joyfully. An injured sparrow held on helplessly on my skirt. I picked it up and gently placed it under a shady tree. Its wing was slightly bruised. After petting it lightly, the bird flew away.
I looked up the sky, wondering what other surprises were in store. I could feel the wind kissing my cheek and the affection was enchanting. I continued my walk, trying not to step on the dropping dry leaves. Yellowish brown leaves were scurrying down the road, some resting at the kerb, others slept on the walkway.
I took a break and sat on a bench at the park. The autumn evening sun was getting ready to set early. The fresh air was invigorating, inviting a blue green butterfly to rest on my arm. The setting sun was alluring, enticing me to the pond. Ducks and drakes were cruising leisurely. I took small strides and was received by an orange coloured Koi performing a double somersault and then swam away. Water splashed onto my face and as I wiped it off, I noticed a gentle damselfly posing on a rock. As I took a closer look, I fell into the water.
Splash! Oh no! I was struggling to get up when I saw an outstretched hand. I looked up and lo and behold, the most interesting bearded man with the sweetest smile, was in front of me, I couldn’t resist his help and as he pulled me out of the pond, I knew that it was going to be an autumn to remember forever!
