It was a rainy evening in Malda Town. No one had been seen on the road. The dogs were barking incessantly in the slimy paths. The cool breeze was blowing sharply. A heavy lightning exploded in the sky. All this things made the atmosphere so creepy. An ambulance was running across the road by blowing its siren. Rohit, a boy almost aged twenty years was a patient of brain cancer. That day in the afternoon suddenly he lost his sense. Immediately his father called an ambulance and admitted him in the hospital. His parents were totally worried to see the situation of their son. But Rohit was struggling in the game of life and death. His parents didn't know when and how he was attacked by the dangerous disease. After reaching in the hospital Rohit was taken to the operation theatre.
It took a long time. The rain had stopped. Rohit's parents could only hear the tick-tock of the clock. They were watching to the theatre restlessly and continuously praying to the God for their son's recovery. At night 1 o'clock doctor came out from the theatre and bewailed, "I'm sorry. Your son don't have much time. Please see your son for the last time."
His parents' eyes were filled with tears. They became speechless. They went to the room and failed to stop their tears. Seeing them Rohit told,"Don't worry Mom and Dad. Finally I got rid of this disease. Can you do me a favor, Dad?", Rohit asked. His dad replied with a painful tone, "Yes, my boy. Anything you want."
Rohit then said, "Please call my friend Nisha whom I love and then call my best friend Akash. I wanna talk to them.", Rohit asked. His father immediately called Nisha and gave phone to Rohit.
Rohit said,"Hello, Nisha. I'm Rohit."
"Hey Rohit, I'm busy now. Call you later.", said quickly by Nisha.
"But listen to me please. I'm going somewhere.", Rohit told.
"Don't bother me. Go wherever you want. Bye." after saying this Nisha cut the call.
Rohit couldn't believe that his beloved had no time to listen to him. Then his dad called Akash and gave the phone to him.
Rohit said,"Hello, Akash. I'm Rohit. Are you free for me?"
Akash replied,"Ya, of course. Always free for you brother."
"I'm going somewhere and I'll not return from there.", Rohit told by trying to stop his tears.
"Hey friend. I think you forget our promise. Wherever you go you should go with me otherwise I won't talk to you. Remember, in the last summer vacation you took me to your village and we had spent a great vacation together ever. You're my best friend after all." Rohit started to cry by this surprising answer from his best friend. He could only manage to say, "Thank you for being my true friend. Good bye, brother."
Suddenly the phone fell down on the floor. Rohit's parents were burst into cry. Those were the last words heard by Akash from his best friend.
