"Where are we?" I asked Nick, taking in our surrounding
"In front of a bank", Nick answered simply, "I heard from a local resident aka ice cream man that the mayor keeps charging them thrice their tax just to build a statue of himself". It was now morning and I've tried my best to forget everything that went on the previous night.
"So, what do you want to do?" I asked raising my eyebrow at him
"I'm going to bring back what's theirs" Nick replied leaving the car, "Gen, I want you to open the back door for me and once I enter the car you drive off, ok?"
"Ok, don't get caught"

The security alarm started going off and I started the car.
"Now Gen!" Nick yelled entering the car and I drove off with the security team on our tail.
"Keep driving babe, don't look back" he said before opening the back door and I heard gunshots and screeching tyres.
"What are you doing?!"
"I just got them off our back" Nick said before slamming the door, "Now let's go give the people their money back". it was then that I realized he had bags of cash with him in the backseat
"How do we do that?, it's like five in the morning" I asked him through the rear view mirror.
"we'll find a way"Nick replied with a smile.

Nick and I ended up dropped most of the money in the door step of the residents, not all of them, just some of them and we kept the rest in front of an orphanage.
"Nick, are those cars following us?" I asked him looking at the black cars that were behind us, maybe I'm just imagining stuff.
"I don't know" he replied before speeding up and the cars behind us also picked up their pace.
"I think they are" I whispered, one of the cars came beside ours and started shooting at us, "Nick!!" I screamed
"Keep your head low" he said before increasing his speed and the car was far behind us.
"Wh.. who are those people?" I stuttered terrified
"The Ravens" Nick answered, "the guys in that car had a tattoo of the bird on their wrist, that's their logo"
"Oh God" I sighed
"Babe, at the count of three you jump out of the car, ok?" he suddenly said
"what are..."
"one!" Nick said driving into a forest.
"Two!"
"Nick!!"
"Three!"

"My legs are hurting me" I groaned. it's been two hours since we crashed our car and jumped out and we have been walking ever since.
"Hop on" Nick said squatting down.I wasn't heartless, I knew Nick was also tired.
"No" I said walking in front of him.
"why not?" he said walking beside me
"I prefer cars to backs" I said earning a scoff from Nick
"well I'm faster than a car" Nick challenged
"Shut up, I doubt that" I laughed, ever since I've known Nick,he has been very cocky.
"You hurt my feelings" Nick said feigning hurt.
"Then my job here is done" I mocked and Nick laughed
"You are with the diamond right?" he suddenly asked
"Yes, why do you ask?"
"I was just wondering"

"Hello?!" Nick yelled, it's been an hour since we entered this town and we saw this strange looking house and Nick decided it was the perfect place to hide for the meantime.
"What if it's haunted?" I asked shivering a little, it was cold here
"Ghosts don't scare me" Nick stated proudly
"Who's there?" a voice said and Nick screamed in fear before realizing it was just an old woman, so much for not being scared.
"Is that you, Timmy?" the woman said to Nick
"Yes Mama, it's me" Nick said laughing nervously, that's what he does when he is lying.
"who's she" the woman aked pointing at me.
"My wife" Nick replied
"Come in" she said smiling warmly making me feel bad about lying, "I'll go prepare lunch so you guys go settle down in your room"
We went towards the first room we saw and it was Timmy's room because it had the name written on the door.
"Check this out, Timmy has a secret passage" Nick said moving the shelf
"He probably used it to sneak out of the house" I said laughing at the idea.
"Maybe" Nick shrugged pushing the shelf back in place, "look at how many socks this guy has"
I saw dozens and dozens of socks with the same colour by the entrance of the room, "Maybe they sell socks or something"
"Maybe" Nick replied, "they may come in handy"

"Timmy!!" I heard a voice scream. I opened my eyes only to see Nick by the door of the room and he motioned me to keep quiet. He took his gun and went out. I went after him but I just stood by the door and peeked. I saw those guys who were chasing us before holding the old woman by her neck.
"Let her go!" Nick yelled angrily. I felt so helpless at that point and I turned only to see the secret passage. I have an idea.

NICK'S POV
"Let her go!" I yelled at the blockheads that were holding the old woman at gun point. Immediately someone kicked me from the back and I feel down on my knees.
"It's the famous Nicholas, so good to see you" a voice said and I looked up to see the leader of the Ravens, after years as a gang member I could recognize these people in an instant.
"What do you want from me?" I asked although I knew what they came for
"You know what I want. Give me the diamond and I'll let you and this old hag go" he said smiling, "I'll don't have all day boy"
"Ok, fine, I'll go get it" I said standing up but he used the baseball bat he was with to knock me back down and I groaned in pain.
"Where is the diamond?" he asked.
"it's inside a sock in my room, the first room to the left" I said in pain
"Go and get it"he said to one of his lackeys, "Take him out" he said to another lackey.
The lackey dragged me out of the house and a car parked in front of us.
"The boss said I should take him to the warehouse" the driver, who was one of them, said and the lackey opened the back door and threw me in.
After a few minutes of driving, the man stopped the car. "You can leave now" a familiar voice said from the passenger seat and the driver left the car and I brought my gun and shot him, I don't want him to go back and tell his boss.

GENEVIEVE'S POV
"Babe, are you ok?" I asked Nick turning to look at him
"I've never been better" he answered climbing to the front seat, " babe I know you are smart and all but today proves you are my guardian angel, my Sunshine"
"Shut up, I didn't know your stupid plan would work" I said smiling at him
"Don't you trust me?" he said laughing, "what about the police?"
"Already called them" I replied and we started hearing sirens and gunshots. "Will the old woman be alright?"
"Yes, she'll be fine. The gang won't want to implicate themselves any further so they won't hurt her." Nick explained and I sighed in relief.
"Why did the gang leader come by himself?" I asked, "he could have sent his goons"
"The diamond is so precious that even a father wouldn't send his own son to bring it" Nick said.
"Wow, so he is going to jail, right?"
"Yes, I also kept a file containing a bunch of dirty stuff he did with the big boss, so he's not getting out of it"
