chapter 3 - The Grind Never Stops.

They arrive back at the settlement, Ips, Birms alongside Leist are carrying some of the wings from the Sky Gliders. Lon, Coven alongside Ports are standing at the entrance of the settlement, with the people who live inside going about their business.

Ips says "I will give these to the builders."

As all three of them walk off past the settlement guards. Manc alongside Hester are walking behind them into the settlement, as they have the Primate’s carcasses.

Manc says "let's see what we can do with these, if they can come in use."

Lon walks up to Cambs while he is asking Cambs "Who are these people?”

Cambs responds saying "They come from the boulder that crash landed, the man is called Stoner, also they need a place to stay."

Lon responds saying "Put them in the protector’s compound for now."

Cambs says "Okay, I also had a word with Diy, he said the homes are nearly ready, so when they are ready to be moved into, I will have nineteen, seventeen also one for my parents, the rest of the fellow brothers, can have a home each."

Lon responds asking, "Okay, your taking three out of the twenty?"

Cambs responds "Pretty much my bro, also we can give one each to George also one to Gordon."

Lon responds as he asks "Okay, Lee can you take them to the compound please brother?"

Lee is kissing his wife D, his helmet is in his hand, Lee responds saying, "Will do."

As Stoner gives the armour along with sword to Lon while saying "Thank you for letting myself also my people stay here, we will help you with whatever you need."

Lon nods his head while passing the armour to Liver as he says to him “Bro take this to George please, give him something to study.”

Liver says, “I will do it now brother.”

While Liver walks into the settlement carrying the sword with some parts of the armour in one hand, the rest of the armour in the other hand. Lon extending his hand out so Stoner shakes it.

Lee says to Stoner “This way.”

While Cambs says "Got to get back to work, this path won't build itself."

They all start walking back into the Settlement.

Liver arrives at Georges workshop with the armour along with sword that was given to the settlement by Stoner. George sharpening a sword on a peddle grindstone, looks up at Liver who is holding up the torso armour.

Liver says “This is for you to inspect, see what you can get out of it.”

George stops peddling, his eyes inspecting every inch of the armour, he looks gobsmacked at the intriguing designs.

The words “That is fucking beautifully unique, I truly have never seen anything like it.” Come from Georges mouth.

He gets up from the peddle grindstone, placing the sword to one side, his eyes glued to the armour as he walks over to inspect it some more.

Cambs is walking up to Phil which is loading the wheelbarrow with smashed pieces of rocks.

Cambs says "I will give you a hand brother."

Phil shakes his hand as he responds saying "Be my guest bro."

Phil continues to ask, “Them folks came out of the boulder?”

Cambs response “They did indeed mate, they traveled from one of the planets beside our moon.”

Phil responds saying “Crazy to think there is a whole civilisation up there.”

Cambs nods in agreement as he responds saying “There is so much we still don’t know, like look at there armour, it’s so advanced, we need to get ours like that .” They carry on chatting among themselves while Cambs starts filling the wheel barrow. Phil picks up the sledge hammer, smashing boulders to rocks, over his shoulder you can see Stoner has already been put to work by the settlement elders, he is chopping logs that will be used to keep the bonfire going.

As the night starts to draw in, the blazing sun starts going down. The faded moon appearing in the middle of the four smaller planets.

Phil says asking "Going to get some food soon, you want any?"

Cambs responds "Yeah bro, don't mind what you bring, going to stay awake all night bro, get this path ready because the homes are nearly finished."

Phil responds, "Yes I was speaking to Diy earlier, got to get some sleep brother."

Barry starts walking over with an empty wheel barrow. Half of the path is laid; the builders are starting to stop for the night.

Phil says to Barry "Let’s go get some food." They both walk off, Cambs carries on loading both wheel barrows.

The next morning, Phil is walking through the settlement, while he sees George alongside Gordon, that are walking towards the bonfire.

Phil shouts to them, asking "Have you seen Cambs?"

George responds "Not since last night bro."

Phil responds, "Okay I will find him."

As he walks past where the boulders used to be but now only the sledge hammer lays on the grass, with one empty wheel barrow beside it. Phil starts walking on the path that has been laid, all the way to the where the new homes are. Phil is walking on the path through the new homes on one side. Cambs is laying the last bit of rocks on a path that leads up to one of the houses. On the other side are some of the new workshops, that are for the craftsmen of this settlement.

Cambs says "Need some more boulders, I used them all."

Phil responds asking "Yeah I see that brother, you done loads, you got some sleep yet bro?"

Cambs responds "I will tonight, the light from the bonfire also the full moon helped otherwise I wouldn't have been able to see nothing."

Phil responds saying "Yes, it’s an immense help."

The builders start walking over to start their day. While Cambs is flattening the stones, as he jumps on a wooden board that he had laid on top of them. As he finishes the path that goes to the front of the house.

Phil says, "That will be all right, let's get some food, got to keep your energy up."

Cambs starts to walk with the wheel barrow back to where the pile of boulders was, while Phil is carrying the board.

As Cambs responds saying "That is true bro got to get more boulders, I see a cave yesterday, with the others we can check that out today.”

Phil responds saying "Oh right, you will have to take the pick axe along with the wheel barrows with you lot."

Cambs responds saying "Cracking idea."

While he puts the wheel barrow down next to the sledge hammer. Phil lays the board on top of the wheel barrow.

They are walking past Gordon, who is dicing up some Sea Dweller.

"Morning Gordon" Cambs says.

"Morning lads" Gordon responds.

Lon alongside Coven are standing at the bonfire,

Coven says to Cambs "You look like shit bro."

Cambs laughs responding, "Feel it as well brother."

While Lon is cooking some skewered red meat with fish.

Phil says to Coven "He has been awake all night laying the path."

Coven responds, "Oh right."

Cambs asks "What is George going to do with the armour?"

Lon responds saying "Not Sure, I have not seen nothing like it before."

Lon takes the skewer out from the bonfire, placing it on the cooling rack.

Cambs responds "I know bro, it will be good if we can make others like it, especially the sword, that is something special.”

Lon responds asking "Yeah it would be, also what you going to do today?"

Cambs responds saying "Need to get more boulders to finish the rest of the path, also I see a cave yesterday, going to take the others to explore that, then I will help around the settlement."

Lon responds saying "Fair enough brother, I will come with you today also try to take some rest."

Lon takes some food from the skewer, giving it to the others then he starts to eat some himself.

While the settlement Protectors are standing around the bonfire, eating along with talking among themselves. Stoner walks over with two of his men one either side of him.

George says “Just the man I want to speak with.”

George just been eating with his hands wipes them on his blacksmith apron after extends his right hand towards Stoner, he shakes Georges hand.

George continues to ask “I would like to know if your blacksmith came here with you guys? I would love to pick his brain about the components he used.”

Stoner responds asking “What’s a blacksmith?”

Lon says “The person who made your amour.”

Stoner response saying “Oh we call them PC, it’s short for Protection Creators.”

The man to Stoners right says “That would be me, my actual name is Forge, I can help you with whatever you need.”

“Let me show you my workstation.” George responds.

They shake each other’s hands as they walk off towards where George works.

Stoner say “Now I noticed you don’t have any vegetables, it’s just meat you guys eat.”

Liver asks “Don’t know what vegetables are mate.”

Stoner tapping his guy on the shoulder “This bloke can teach you how to grow them, we have brought some seeds from our home planet with us, he is what we call a farmer.”

The farmer starts to explains how to grow vegetables to the settlement protectors.



While Cambs is eating some of the cooked Sea Dweller. A young lady wearing a white dress, her young son holding her hand, they walk up to Gordons stall, which is looking down cutting white meat into cubes with his bloodied short sword. She coughs to get his attention.

Gordon looks up asking “Can I help you Elizabeth?”

Her long light hair waving in the breeze, she smiles at Gordon, oh boy what a smile she has the kind that could melt a frozen heart.

Elizabeth asks, “Can I some meat please.”

Gordon trying to avoid not losing himself in her bright blue eyes, responds asking “A mixed bow or separate luv?”

Elizabeth responds asking “Can I have a mixed bowl please my dear?”

Gordon nods in response, while he grabs a wooden bowl from under the counter. Her son is making an aeroplane noise, which is unheard of because the settlement folks have not managed to make one yet. Her son with his hand flat out, swooshing it through the air until it is descending through the air, he then makes an explosion noise, while mimicking with his hand crashing.

Gordon slides the full wooden bowl across the counter.

Elizabeth says, “Thank you, have a good day.”

Gordon responds saying “Your welcome, you too.”

She holds the bowl with one hand while walking away with her son.
