Amit did not give up his search . For six months he looked for Sumit in every possible village,town and city. He pasted posters, posted on social media ,even offered a reward,but all in vain. After six months he gave up hope . His heart pained every time he looked at Sumit's photograph. All the memories flooded his mind and life felt meaningless. How could a friend so dear and so close to him ,leave like this. A question that robbed his peace of mind ,kept haunting him " what happened in Sumits life that forced him to disappear like this. Everyone believed he was dead, coz no live person would vanish into thin air like this.
But after 2 years this email ? He was shocked and did not know how to react. He clicked on the mail and started reading .....
Dear Amit
I am sure after receiving this mail you will be in a state of shock and surprise. I'm sorry you had to go through all this suffering and pain because of me. I know you searched for me as I saw your posts ..... "I am alive " Yes you read right. I left college that day to disappear forever . I was going into depression and did not have the courage to tell you . You and everyone else looked up to me and I could not bear to be a failure. My father had become bankrupt due to heavy losses in business. The life we always lived,the status we had maintained ,all crumbled before my eyes. This was a major setback in my life. I wanted to talk to you about it many times but somehow could not. My life was shattered and I felt helpless and hopeless. I know it is very foolish of me to give up on my father and you at this crucial time. I am a coward. When problems came ,I chose to run rather than face them bravely. I had you as a brother and friend and yet I did not fight back. I ran that day to end my life and would have succeeded too but was saved by a monk. He took me in his shelter ,revived me and taught me the value of life. For two years I have been living in a monastery and my life has changed for the better. I have learned to fight depression and look at things from a different perspective. "Life is meant to be lived,whatever our circumstances maybe. So ,here I am ' Alive ' in every form. Have told Dad too about my well being. Will meet you soon.

Amit could not believe his eyes. Tears of happiness flowed and he thanked God that Sumit was alive. Life is full of miracles indeed.
