Customer!", a bus conductor called out to me as I approached the bus park to board a bus to the office.

I looked around and noticed that all the buses were empty. I wanted to walk forward to see if I could get a bus away from the park as I was running late for work.

"Customer why you dey run from me nah?," asked the bus conductor.
I smiled and said, "Oga there is no passenger in your bus."
"Enter, nah go we dey so", the driver added.
"Obviously", I whispered to myself.

After much persuasion, I finally entered the bus as the first passenger.

They beckoned on other passengers and eventually, the bus got filled.

We started the journey.

"Money for front" the bus conductor said as he collected the transportation fare from the passengers.
Passengers paid the fare of #400 each to the bus conductor and he gave some their balance as required.

I gave him #500 and waited to get my #100 balance.
He stretched out the #100 note but as I tried collecting it, he returned it and gave me #200 instead, with a smile.

When I finally alighted, I thanked him.
"You see say I do you well now o", said the bus conductor with a smile.

I smiled back and left.

It pays to be a customer after all. 🙂
