I see you in a blur 4
And there it came, the knock I dreaded and then footsteps. Dad, was he even supposed to be called that, when was he ever a dad?

“Dad” Ezra hugged him as soon as he came out.

“You didn't tell me you were coming over, Ezra, weren't you stayin_. He suddenly noticed me at that point “Noah!” He said teary and hugged me so hard that I thought I was going to suffocate.

“Hi ..... I guess” I said, waving awkwardly as soon as he let me go. Ezra never told me that he wasn't living with Dad anymore, I guess I was too caught up in my life, that I never cared about that of others, not even my brother whom I supposedly loved.

“Come in sons” Dad said excitedly, a little too excited about my liking. We went inside and everything looked the same as it was ten years ago.

“Damn” I said quietly

“What” Ezra asked

“Nothing” All the memories came pouring in. Dad and mom fighting, Ezra and I crying, and so many other painful memories. Dad led us to what used to be our room, told us to call if we needed anything, and left. He didn't seem ready to have a conversation, at least not with me.

“You didn't tell me about your house”

“You never asked”

“Yeah, I never did. I'm so sorry, man, I never knew you moved out”.

“It's down the corner, if you ever feel overwhelmed here, we'd go there. It gives me more privacy and more inspiration to write my book”.

“Oh, yeah”

“Yup”

“And may I ask what the book is about?”

“Nope”

“Pretty please” I said, batting my eyelashes at him

“You silly silly man” Ezra said, playfully pointing his finger at me. “It's about a certain someone” He said, cheeks turning red.

“Hmm, interesting. Who is she?”

“When did I say anything about a she?”

"Sus” I said, giving him the look

He rolled his eyes at me and hissed.

“Ok, I'm sorry, who is she?”

“You met her already, Becca”

“I should have known”

“What?!”

“You were defending her so intently” I said, smiling mischievously at him

“Intently my foot” He said, a little angry

I roared with laughter as he jumped on me. We rolled on the bed like kids, and it felt so nice.

“We've got church tomorrow”

“Yeah church, I've missed it” I said sarcastically

“You'd love youth church, trust me”

“Meh, can I trust you?” I said, shaking my head and smiling mischievously. We looked at each other and roared with laughter, and at that moment I knew everything would be just right...... or not.
