this planet earth is beautiful
divine in sweet perfection
to rest my eyes on nature’s soul
brings peace and introspection

forests wake up shrouded in their misty morning breath
a fresh new day is born again
too full of life for death

oceans vivid blue, running ribbons through the sky
purple mountains,skirts ofwoodland
clouded peaks up high

this should be enough to make a person feel fulfilled
but still they’re head down in their phones
needing ever bigger thrills

it’s time to make them all take note and look up from their screens
so they remember who they are
and know where they should be


but love will conquer all, the way it should have always been
because there is no darkness where the light can’t also be

with time we’ll cure the virus
that infection they call hate
we just have to keep our trust and hope it’s not too late
