What Divides Us
A Big Day…..
I opened my eyes and looked around my room, it was still dark but I knew that morning had come. I got up, yawned and stretched myself. I looked around before looking at myself, well not entirely just down at my chest then at my legs. I chuckled lightly as a saw my V-line below my toned tummy. Now I'm not trying to brag or anything but I was a ladies man, I was 6'4,dark skinned, had dreads,a small moustache,fit, a small dimple that appears on my left cheek anytime I smile. I had just finished dressing up when I heard a knock on my door.. "it's show time" I muttered to myself before stepping out. A car was already waiting for me, I mean ofcourse it was. As the door opened, I was met with three smiling faces and I couldn't help but laugh. The door closed behind me and I took a seat beside the only lady there and the absolute love of my life. "How did you sleep handsome" she said to me while adjusting my outfit. We all were wearing matching outfits and it just felt right. "Like a baby, baby" i replied with a smile, "how about you?" I asked her while looking into her eyes.. "quite peaceful, though I couldn't wait for daybreak to greet us" she said while turning away to look at the other two people with us in the car. As she started talking to them I just looked at them and smiled as I recalled how they had become my family. Despite being different, we found peace and joy in each other. The young lady and the love of my life placed her hand on my lap for some seconds before she gave me one of her million dollar smiles then turned back to the other people. My ruby, my queen, my world.. she was perfect. 5'11, chocolate, pear shaped and curvy in the right places(if you know what I mean) and in addition to being insanely attractive,she was always on natural which she had maintained since she was in secondary school and always wore it beautifully, she was brilliant and had a heart of gold. My thoughts however got interrupted when someone called my name "Ameh what do you think" I heard someone ask me. I snapped back to reality and turned to the guy sitting opposite my Ruby, he was 6'5 ft, always wore a sponge fade haircut,had beards, chocolate, fit with tribal marks on his right cheek(with the way they were drawn, you would think he was involved in a serious bottle fight and funny enough it made him look both dangerous and attractive.. well at least to the ladies) "hmm? What do I what?" I asked clearly not hearing the question the first time. He looks at me for a second before he starts laughing. "Guy shey I don tell you say make you no dey use woman fill your brain" he said in-between laughs. Oh did i forget to mention that we all were family? Well not by blood though but we thought as one.. well most times atleast. The guy talking to me was almost like my ruby.. (key word.. almost), he had a heart of gold and was really brilliant but don't cross him or hurt those he cares about. "Oya sorry, now can you repeat the question" I ask after letting out a short chuckle. " He thinks that today would be go smoothly without any drama" he responds while pointing at the guy sitting beside him The guy was probably the most attractive out of us three.he was dark, 6'7ft,was always on low cut but wore waves,also had beards but I like his better than dami's,didn't have abs but he was fit,also had tribal marks but his made him look different,in a good way tho,he was the the second loudest of the group, the other guy being the first.he was a fighter,I mean..who isn't but I have reasons for saying so. I looked at him, then down at my hands before looking up at him and smiling." Dami today will go well . Don't worry, we're almost there sef" I responded as i looked out the window on my left. The others looked out and we were suprised to see the amount of people waiting for us.." what.. what is going on? Are we at the right place? " My ruby asked whilst looking at me and then back out the window. I simply smiled and said " they came for something and we know what it is. Today will certainly go down in history as a great day" As soon I finished my sentence, the car door opened up and we walked out and into the building. Others were already there and were seated as well.. we stood close to each other and started talking to each other whilst the crowd looked on.
We didn't know how much time had passed till someone spoke.." Ameh James Orji, Simisola Ruby Adeshola, Damilola Joshua Adeshola and Ahmed Christopher Yusuf" the masculine voice called and we all looked up with smiles on our faces.. the voice was still talking but I tuned him out as looked round. The room was really packed and some even had their phones out, I slightly shook my head and chuckled before turning back to the masculine voice…" This is my final verdict"....
