WHAT COULD OF BEEN
It seemed like a normal Wednesday, just walking home from school kicking a rock along with me, just thinking about what it would be like to go on a date with Addelyn Rasmussen. A typical fifteen year old boys thoughts. humming the toons of somebody by Bryan Adams. After the normal fifteen minute walk I found myself at my house and my mom just asked me the normal questions, how was school, what did you learn and so on. I replied with the usual, okay and not much.
She looked and asked what I had planned for the afternoon. I looked back and said maybe a nice hike through the woods. going with anybody, she said. I replied with I guess I can take raurke along with me. "I thought you said a nice walk" she said trying not to laugh. well if something interesting happens he'll have it on camera you to see. You tell me everything interesting that happens and Everytime I see the tape it is not too interesting. Well one day you'll see something you won't believe or not I said jokingly.
Well I guess I should get going I said as I walked out the door. yeah you better my mom said again jokingly. What can I say my mom just loved to joke. tell dad I'm just taking a hike. Well if I say it like that it sounds like your out to get somebody or something my mom jokingly said again. then don't say it like that I jokingly said back.
I walked listening and jamming to summer of 69 by Bryan Adams. I walked to Raurkes house and picked him up and of course he had his camera in hand.
When are you going to learn tape cost for that thing I said. He looked at me and jokingly said "When my mom stops paying for it". we walked to the hiking trail and it was surprisingly ghosted. there was very few people there, but it didn't matter to us we always went on a secret trail we made. It went pretty far to a secret part of the creek all the trails ended at the creek but me and Raurke always went to our secret part. we made the secret trail because we wanted to swim in an uncrowded place and talk on the trail without multiple people listening. We just talked about random things like what the most expensive baseball card was and why.
He of course filmed everything. After a while we got to the only crossing of the actual trail witch was the bridge, but we liked the bridge it was like an icon to us. Everytime we walked by it we stopped and walked on it and looked off of it. a small group of people walked by us as Raurke filmed the excitement as he always did. he held the camera over the edge and talked about how high it was. Do you think someone could survive if they fell off the bridge. I don't know I replied. maybe, but at least we don't have to find out I joked. "Come on let's get to the creek so we can swim some", I said
